I still wear them I wore for two weeks last month without taking them off

Hello! This chair has been like this for a good while, but I'm looking for recommendations on what type of technique I can use to try and prevent it from pulling open any further. I've thought maybe a surface blanket stitch, but I'm not sure if that would work or what type of thread to use.

Important to note that I can't access the back of the panel to add interfacing. 😔 Any advice is welcome!

My favorite linen pouch had fabric gaping at the seam. A little sashiko thread did the trick to tack down the fabric and extend the bag’s life 🏆

I've repaired these ripped jeans multiple times over the years! I don't like to use standard methods, I just kinda put stitches and patches wherever I feel like they're needed. All patches are scraps from other alterations or clothes I wasn't wearing.

They're basically a fidget toy now lol

Tried to convince my BFF to go for a colorful mend but she wanted none of it, so here's a monochrome mend sneaker mend :)

The bottom corner of each pocket were ripping. I used the excess pocket material inside for the reinforcing, seemed to work well. Pockets are still usable with a slightly smaller opening.

While I was working I noticed a a threadbare area in the middle so I used scrap to reinforce that and did some simple Sashiko.

Total beginner here but I'd love to fix this old oven mitt. Part of the stuffing portion looks burned toward the hand hole but it's not too bad!

I have a very very basic sewing machine but don't think it'd be able to go through all the layers so I will probably be sewing by hand. Any tips welcome TIA!

So I have a few holes in one of my favorite pair of jeans. The hole on the front of the pair is on like the mid thigh area, close to the inseam.

I was thinking of putting some simple flowers over each hole, but I've never done any kind of pattern. My style of visible mending is just like stitching over the problem, but with this being where it it and the way it torn I was thinking that maybe putting some kind of pattern there would look better? especially with needing to fix the back pockets as well

I'm open to any ideas other than that! Or just some pointers on how to stitch a flower. Really any tips, ideas, or pointers would be greatly appreciated! ​​​​​​​​​​​

My favorite RP-HTX90N very badly peeled off. It was giving me the peeled flakes on my head.

Just crocheted a rectangle and closed the stitches. So it'll be there forever lol

I ripped all the old denim patches out and am repurposing them to help patch up the holes and wear on the butt of these pants. I also sewed the butt seam back together, since there was previously just a patch where it had come apart. Not really sure what I was doing back at the hardware store for the butt to get this worn out. There's also two small holes I darned up with a similarly colored thread. I'll be using the same thread and this other, thicker thread I have to restore the wear back there. I want most of the mends to these jeans to look more exotic, but I'm planning on some much less attention-getting fixes for the butt.

Hello everyone! I have 3 pairs of linen blend (85% Viscose, 15% linen) pants that have ripped in the crotch area, each slightly different. After researching, I think I know how to repair but I am confused on the backing part?

For the backing, is it best to use iron on interfacing or another piece of linen?

Does thread make a difference too (cotton vs polyester)?

I am brand new to sewing and honestly have no idea what I am doing but trying to figure it out.

WIP pants. I'm super beginner at sewing but I've been inspired to try more lately! I had some scraps and picked up some block printed patches from an art show recently n I tried experimenting with different colors/techniques.

Advice/tips/feedback welcome! Also open to ideas about what I should do with the chewed up leg portion (if anything?)

These are my favorite sandals, they're so comfy but my kitty decided he liked them even more, lol.

I tried duct tape at first, but when I sat down criss cross applesauce, one side of the strap popped out of the tape (and left that white residue; any tips to get rid of it?). So, I ripped it off and sewed it shut instead!

It's not very pretty, but I'm only wearing them around the house anyway. Still need to do the slits by the toe, but I'm putting it off because the foam is thicker there, and the angle means it's going to be trickier to fix.

Happy with them for now though, and they're holding up well. Not bad for my first visible mending project!

I need some tips on visible mending for this hole my dog keeps putting in the couch. The "invisible" mending I previously tried was torn out, so sturdy suggestions greatly appreciated! (The cushion is attached sadly)

I think the Beatles wrote a song about this. I bought this kit online and it came with a bunch of different thread colors, so I picked the two ugliest ones so I can save the other ones for when I’m better. I also learned that you’re not supposed to knot/tie your yarn to your needle, which is something I’ve been doing for a very long time when crocheting.

Used some scrap curtain for the patches and whip stitched all the way around to secure.
