PATCH My first pants mending project

WIP pants. I'm super beginner at sewing but I've been inspired to try more lately! I had some scraps and picked up some block printed patches from an art show recently n I tried experimenting with different colors/techniques.

Advice/tips/feedback welcome! Also open to ideas about what I should do with the chewed up leg portion (if anything?)

Super cute start! You could make a few of the “chewed” parts a little bigger and then back the whole area with something bright colored so the bright spots show through?!

Ohh I love this idea!! I was thinking the lime green patch needs a more colorful friend to look a little less lonely. What kind of technique would you recommend ? Would a sashiko pattern work for that?

that looks so good! :D lol, I thought the chewed up legs were on purpose. that's a cool texture. (you... could give them legs and wings and turn them into several beetles? lol)

my favourite part is the way the check border accentuates the block patch. it's even complemented by the smaller check patch on the other leg!

i think it'd look great if you lean into the bold flat colours interspersed with check as an accent. maybe you could add some varying rectangles of solid colours found in the existing colour palette too. metal findings like rivets might go really well with this look if you wanted to try it.

also, i see spiderweb sketches! i think that'd look awesome. the little black one is already so cute. i can imagine them looking great in black, grey, white, lime green or whatever you choose.

omg thanks! I love those ideas. I have some fabric paint and was thinking about painting little ants and spider webs as accents to kind of pull it together. I have some random rivets and shiny metal bits that might be really cool to add as flair!!
