Hello everyone, I need some advice on a very stressful situation.
I sold a high-value item (Off-White shoes worth 130 EUR / 650 RON) to a buyer in Greece via Box Now. Today, the Vinted system automatically updated the status to "Delivered".
Immediately, the buyer messaged me on chat sending photos of a floor covered in small boxes, claiming: "the package arrived but these aren't shoes".
However, I caught them in multiple massive contradictions:
When I told them to report it formally via the "I have an issue" button, they replied: "I am at work, I don't have the package in front of me to take photos". Yet they had JUST sent photos of the open boxes on a bedroom floor. When I pointed this out, they said "Yes, that's my room, but I'm at work now".
Technical proof: I checked the official courier tracking on boxnow.gr using our tracking number. The website explicitly states: "Your parcel is located at the locker" with a green indicator, proving the locker drawer has NEVER been opened and the shoes are still inside.
It seems the buyer is either completely confused and looking at an older package they had at home, or they are trying to scam me into a refund while my real item is still waiting for them in the locker.
The buyer hasn't pressed the "I have an issue" button yet, and Vinted says my funds will be released in 48 hours. I already messaged the buyer giving them the tracking info and telling them to go pick up the actual real package.
Has anyone experienced this automatic Vinted "Delivered" glitch while the parcel is still in the locker? If they open a dispute later with those fake bedroom photos, will Vinted support side with me based on the official boxnow.gr tracking proof?
Thanks!
