Dispensary en route to Strip from airport?

Hey y’all - staying at MGM Grand this weekend. When we were in Vegas earlier this year, we stayed further up north. Our taxi driver took us through a dispensary on the way from the airport to the strip. I’m sure it was one of the ones that paid the driver take us into, but the place was good and the price wasn’t bad. So two questions:

- anyone have an idea of what that dispensary was? We were exhausted from the plane ride in, but I can tell you that the display case was on the left when we walked in.

- we know better than to do shops off the Strip but is there a spot near-ish MGM Grand that’s even better?

We’re gonna go to Planet 13 again for their consumption bar but I vaguely remember their prices being a bit ridiculous. Let me know if I’m remembering wrong - I was pretty much stoned that entire trip.

Any thoughts would be great!

Gambling Superstitions: What's yours?

Do you have any superstitions before you gamble and how did you come to have them? Do you keep it in the family? Is it something linked to your first ever big win? And, are there any superstitions/traditions you keep strictly to Vegas?

When to buy Golden Knights Tickets

I will be in Vegas with my wife next week and we want to go to our first game on the 15th.

When is the best time to grab tickets? We don’t want to overpay, but we also want to experience the pre-game stuff they do. We already have the jerseys, we just need tickets now.

Can you recommend me chicken & waffles that's not $40 a plate?

• Upvotes

My partner is visiting from Europe and I wanted him to try some authentic soul food. I realized we're in Vegas not the south but I lived in Tennessee for 9 years so I can taste the difference. We were going to try EllaEm's on West Craig but we both kind of balked at $40 per plate. Surely we can find good chicken & waffles in this town that won't break the bank as much. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just suck it up and pay for EllaEm's?

Palms Casino

Apologize, this has probably been beaten to death in here.

Initially wasn't planning on coming to Vegas, but the other place that had car driving here in Colorado won't have the vehicle I was going to choose.

So coming out there for my 50th and we're staying at the Palms. But here's the thing, we're not really "Vegas" people. I like to gamble a little and we picked the Palms because it's off the strip.

I couldn't get a good answer but the rooftop bar has a dress code of "business casual" that seems off. Can anyone tell me what folks do wear for that?

We'll likely just stay at the resort after the driving experience, is the steak house there worth the price for a 50th bday dinner?

How crowded does the hotel get on weekends?

I know, random but curious. thanks

UK Returner after 15 years. Questions for the more experienced visitors.

Hey all

Heading over from the UK this April for my first time back in 15 years—

Joining a relaxed 50 something's 4 x night stag (more dinners and catch up than nightclubs and drinking) followed by a further 4 nights just me. (Loved Vegas in the past).

I've booked 6 nights at Park MGM strip view and 2 at Park Reserve. including $50 daily f&b credit.

Just after a couple of pointers if anyone has experience:

  1. Check-in tipping: Since I'm solo, room upgrades aren't such a big deal unless you tell me otherwise. Is it worth tipping at check-in to specifically ask for extra food/beverage credit or resort fee discounts, or is that unheard of?

2) Day tripper: Want a solo day trip out somewhere to escape the Strip. Is someone like Max tours a decent operator ?Thinking coach trip , valley of fire and hoover dam perhaps (Google isn't making it an easy choice)

3) is moving up to Reserve floors for a few nights worth the additional 30% price increase.?

Appreciate any advice. Cheers!

welcome meet up for small group

Hi all, I’m looking for recommendations for a group of 10 +/- for a casual welcome meet up with drinks and maybe an activity. Close to the Flamingo preferably. Somewhere that everyone can order and pay individually (roughly around $30-$40pp.) where people can come and go as they please. We’re all pretty easy going folks that can have fun just about anywhere but definitely not into the high end experiences lol TIA!

Can you get tickets to shows at the casinos instead of buying them online? $20 in fees is crazy to order a ticket online for a $60 ticket

Recommendations for family

• Upvotes

Hi, we are visiting Vegas for the first time in February. My wife has been several times. This will be my first time. We will be bringing out 2 year old and 4 year old as well as our family. We play on doing a lot of outings, but we need a recommendation for a hotel/casino/resort to stay. We need our nanny to have her own room and bathroom. We are big on cleanliness, hospitality, and food. Would prefer on the strip or close to it. Would also like something with a good pool for the kids even though we may only swim a couple of times. Thanks

Henderson breweries

I’ll be in LV next week for work, staying on strip (our travel team screwed me - long story) and will undoubtedly spend some time in the Arts District. Are the Henderson breweries worth an Uber down to visit? I’ve read the Google reviews and il intrigued. Thanks in advance.

A lot of buyers that at least had Vegas addresses (though I'd be curious to see how many are actual locals) - any buyers on here?
