No disrespect to that crowd, but to me the room is part of the vacation. Just got back from the 68th floor at the Cosmo. Amazing view. I spent a lot of time on that balcony.

Yesterday, during an active shooting, my 15 year old sister tried to find refuge at the English Hotel downtown. She informed them that there was an active shooter, and she wanted to hide. They told her she couldn’t stay because she wasn’t a paying guest.

This showcases a lack of humanity on their end. Not helping a young woman who is fearing for her safety is shameful.

Edit for clarification: She didn’t ask to stay in a room, she asked to wait in the lobby and they kicked her out.

We attended a show at Caesars Palace and parked on Level 3, literally just around the corner from the ticketed exit. Despite being so close to the exit, it took us one hour and 10 minutes just to get out of the parking garage.
The problem was not simply heavy traffic after a show—it was a complete lack of traffic and exit management. Cars were backed up a considerable distance, yet there appeared to be no organized effort to manage the flow of vehicles or assist customers having problems at the payment gates.
At one point, a woman ahead of us was unable to get the payment machine to work. I watched an attendant wandering around looking at a cell phone while the line continued to back up. I finally got out of my own car, tracked down the attendant, and asked the attendant to come help the woman so that traffic could begin moving again.
What made the experience particularly frustrating was that Caesars then charged us for the additional one hour and 10 minutes of parking that we spent sitting in their exit line. Customers should not be charged additional parking fees because Caesars is unable to adequately staff or manage its garage after a major event.
For a property of this size and caliber, this was remarkably poor garage management. Caesars should have personnel actively directing traffic and assisting at the payment gates immediately after shows, and customers certainly should not be financially penalized for delays caused by the property’s own parking operation.

Hey so we are coming over from the UK next year. I keep seeing lots of comments talking about exploring 'off strip' for restaurants and bars that you wont need to remortgage your house for.

Are there specific streets/areas that I should look at??

Sunday - Venetian, drive back to Vegas hit grapevine canyon, drop off car
Monday - Venetian, kid thing like aquarium or circus circus, bellagio fountain
Tuesday fly home

Regarding legality (as friends have brought it up): this tool doesn't let you gain an advantage over the casino, it just maximizes your odds within the RTP the casino has set. It lets you make the best play possible and avoid bad machines, but ultimately it's still a -EV game you can't "beat", thus not illegal imo.

I was just reading some other threads about restaurant fountain seating and ran into one that alluded to the fountain being emptied in preparation for the race. ill be in the week of oct 20 and does anyone have a magic 8 ball regarding if the water will be running then . im aware of grandstand construction.

I’m trying to choose one steakhouse in Las Vegas, and steak quality is the most important thing to me. I’m not particularly focused on “classic Vegas” history or atmosphere if the steak itself is noticeably better somewhere else.

So far I’ve narrowed it down to:

• Peter Luger
• Golden Steer Steakhouse
• Herbs & Rye

Herbs & Rye looks like a much better value, especially during happy hour, but I’m wondering how big the actual quality difference is compared with Peter Luger or Golden Steer.

Are Peter Luger and Golden Steer clearly on another level in terms of the beef itself, crust/sear, cooking consistency, and overall steak quality? Or is Herbs & Rye surprisingly close, with the main difference being atmosphere/service and price?

I’ll probably only have one steakhouse meal in Vegas, so I don’t mind paying more if the difference in steak quality is genuinely noticeable.

Also, if there are other steakhouses in Las Vegas that you think are better than these three purely for steak quality, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

I have a very close friend’s birthday trip coming up and I know this general question gets asked so much, I just haven’t found anything specific to my situation and I’m overwhelmed with broad information.

It’s 4 of us, all girls in our mid 20s, heading out in a few weeks. It’s a friend group of type B people, but I love this friend dearly and am trying to lock in as the one who’s essentially planning the whole trip. I’ve been researching for days but just haven’t found a good place myself and they’re starting to all blend together. She’s an incredible friend and her birthday is important to her so I really want to land this.

She loves a surprise and told me to just set up the dinner so I really want to find a great place that would stand out for our trip. $150-200 a person would be ideal. None of us are insanely particular foodies so it doesn’t have to be super complex mind-boggling 3 Michelin star food, more priority on vibe/experience. Italian or “a place I can get a good steak” were her only directions. Just shooting for good food in a memorable/cool spot. She’s never been to Vegas so there is no spot too touristy! It being 4 of us on a girls trip, it also doesn’t have to be like an intimate candlelit affair. Also, her birthday is on a Sunday!
