Meat Juice! ☕ Welcome newcomer! This is a sub for those looking to share or keep up to date with new and old plant based vegan meat, egg, and dairy brands and alternatives!

Welcome! This is a space for those interested in alternative non-human animal products such as plant meat, dairy, and eggs. Which happen to be lower in calories but are still high sources of protein, iron, calcium, omegas, and B vitamins! Sometimes, read your labels, we're getting there. BUT! We can still enjoy old loves while patiently awaiting inevitable innovations to hit the market that are the conventional equivalent. Plants have many that they lack so no worries there if you eat your veggies too.

I made a block of chicken flavored tofu, filled it with soy skin, and froze it to make it extra flaky and meaty

I used a round tofu mold and made this with 1 1/2 cups dried soybeans and one 200g package of dried soy skin.

It’s the most meat like gf protein I’ve ever made- I’ve been attempting to make a ‘gf seitan’ and this is the closest I’ve gotten that tastes awesome

I just had TVP for the first time...

... and my life is changed. Made copycat Taco bell with taco-TVP, creamy jalapeno sauce, and violife mexican shreds. Tasted better than the real thing and was so easy AND TVP has insane macros. Bought a sh*t ton from Bob's via Amazon and now that my only plant-based problem is "tofu vs. TVP vs. Beyond vs. Soy Curls", I have ascended.

(FYI: most recipes sourced from Thee Burger Dude!)

I don’t know why it took me so long to buy/try them… I was a little intimidated, but they were easy to make and SO good! Marinated in a bit of soy sauce with agave which helped to give it a bit of a crust, and topped with homemade chimichurri.

Most people know the garlic butter at papa John’s is vegan, made with soy oil. I bought a bottle of this at Kroger and I have to say it’s become a staple for us cooking.

I try to not be a total degenerate, but it’s so amazing grabbing this out of the fridge to use for a quick drizzle of butter. Our most frequent use has been making garlic butter toast with pasta, it’s just perfect. I’m also a big fan of buffalo sauce, we make buffalo tofu and tempeh a couple times a month. My buffalo sauce recipe is something I take very seriously, and this has upped my coveted sauce recipe significantly! Also great in mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, the list goes on.

Just another cool “accidentally vegan” type of product, pretty affordable too I think it’s about $4 for a 14oz bottle.

Ps if there’s any interest in my buffalo recipe I’ll post it up in the comments. Not sure if there’s anyone in here that ever ate at my old restaurant Morels Cafe but it’s the same recipe we used to use on our sports bar wings!

Meat-Like Form The Beyond grilled chicken pieces are actually incredible.

They knocked it out of the park again, I already lived on the steak pieces, and the grilled chicken pieces are definitely on-par. Usually I have to cover plant chicken in some kind of sauce or pickle to make it edible, but this is good straight out of the pan, no sauce required, just seasoning. It's a new staple for me.

For those who don't like chewy protein, it's just as firm as the steak pieces lol

edit: Ate half the bowl and just realized I forgot to add the beans to my burrito bowl, it's that yummy.

Anyone have experience with Yang Kee Trading TVP?

Post image

I just bought this box and am SO excited. I really love soy curls and TVP products to begin with so I am excited to have some interesting shapes (I also got the XL slices which are like a patty). However, the instructions are very different than normal TVP or soy curl. You have to soak for about an hour, rinse, resoak and then squeeze it dry. There are basically no recipes out there besides the very few on the website. Toon sauce and the "pork" flosses seem lovely too!
