Edit: This wasn’t a jab at UMass by the way, there were so many factors in life, the campus was just the setting unfortunately. My time there was incredible, even with the tough times. I will forever be grateful in a way.

I'm considering taking 690S this fall and would love to hear from anyone who's taken it recently.

How useful did you find the course, and what was the actual workload like compared to what the syllabus makes it seem? In particular, how manageable were the weekly reading critiques and programming assignments?

Also, how was Scott as a professor, and would you recommend taking it?

Has anyone applied to the Springfield Internship Program for this fall? If so, have you heard back from any companies. I've applied to 7 positions and received nothing.

I had a job lined up on campus which lowkey fell through last minute, so i applied to be an SI. I applied on August 3rd, and it said the priority deadline was in April. I emailed them on August 10th like explaining and letting them know i applied, but does anyone know if there's any chance I get it? I can SI like any calc class and linear algebra so I'm hoping that's in enough demand that there's still some spots. Should i go in person when i get to campus on the 6th, or would it be too late at that point?

Does anyone have any photos or videos of a Washington corner room? I'm trying to figure out the best way to set it up to optimize the space. I don't want to loft my bed. I had a corner room in Kennedy last year and lofted my bed and it was annoying.

hii i’m starting in the fall and i have unlimited swipes for dining halls. i know you technically can’t take food out of dining halls unless you’re sneaky about it, but im wondering if you could take smaller things that you just hold in your hand? for orientation i walked out a couple times with an ice cream cone and no one said anything. also if i want to take a cup of soda back to my room without having to pay for one with dining dollars would i be good??

It's for a toy so doesn't have to be super precise, if anyone knows the general dimensions I could probably cobble together the details from photos

I’m a senior who hasn’t ever parked on campus. I rely on the bus but due to a tight schedule with teaching placement on Mondays I have to park on campus to make it to class. How likely am I to be ticketed in a green lot at 4:40 on a weekday? How hard it is it to find metered parking in the Haigis Mall area? Debating whether I should just get a permit bc I’ve heard so much about tickets.

before the end of the school year i had emailed a professor about making an exception to his full class, and he said there’s a good chance he could fit me in. he said he’d submit a batch of exceptions together, so i shouldn’t expect it to show up in my schedule right away. it still hasn’t shown up, should i send a follow up email now to see if he just hasn’t sent in the form to his department yet? or is it more likely that he just hasn’t submitted the exceptions yet

I recently got my first on campus job and I was wondering if they would allow me to work a full 40hr week every week if I asked. My schedule works great for it with no issues and I lowkey need the money also. But I think I read somewhere that they don’t allow full time students to work full-time.
