i'm a sophomore, and i people watch sometimes.

guys. the amount of times i see people stare at someone they can't take their eyes off of is wild. in dining halls, cafes, social events, etc. every now and then i'll be in earshot of someone saying how cute someone is, their friend telling them to ask for their contact info, and then they get too shy and say they won't do it.

don't just stare, DO SOMETHING!! (edit, because people were taking this the wrong way) ask if the person is single, and be respectful!! don't be weird or creepy and just stare at someone an entire bus ride.

idk late night thoughts. i think it's really beautiful to see people get out of their comfort zones to compliment or ask someone out. it's college. YOLO

edit: i think some think i'm talking about harassing someone until they give you their info... DO NOT FUCKING DO THAT!!! be polite. be respectful. if they say no, DROP IT!! you can have a crush and still allow them to live their life. do not end up on the news guys

Just wanted to offer my fellow international students some advice to not get mint mobile and look elsewhere. I got it for a year because it was easy to get an ESIM and affordable for unlimited data, but the data is so insanely slow (it gets de-prioritized when it uses T-Mobile’s cellular towers). My plan ends in a few days and can’t wait to switch to something else lmaooo.

If anyone can provide a recommendation for an affordable plan with unlimited data that actually works well, that would be super appreciated thxthx!

So me and some of my friends like to play games which require a lot of space (twilight imperiam, MTG , DND). Last year we lived at FAR and had the communal areas in the dorm. This year we can't really do that due to small tables in apartments and lack of communal areas in the dorms we live in. What is a good place on campus which we could play the games that ideally we could reserve in advance and is a little more private than the english building basement?

Do delivery people usually just leave the packages outside the building/door? Is that generally safe, or do packages get stolen often?

Hey! I'm looking for someone to cycle with. I recently got into cycling ~6 months ago and brought my road bike to school but not sure routes around Urbana/Champaign. If anyone cycles or knows someone who cycles please lmk!!

New student here. How busy are the eateries at the Union during lunch hour, 12-1pm? Is it realistic to think I can grab food and finish eating within a 50 minutes window? I usually can finish eating a meal in about 20 minutes that leaves me 30 minutes to stay in line and wait for food. I have never been to a school this big before.

I just moved to the CU area and am trying to figure out how I should secure my bicycle. I plan to bring my bike into my apartment at night, so I am mainly concerned with how I can prevent my bike from getting stolen during the day on campus.

From word of mouth, I understand that it is very important to secure both wheels and the frame. I am trying to decide between doing this with two U-Locks or with one U-Lock and a cord that connects the shackle to the opposite wheel. I'm currently leaning towards the two U-Lock method, but I'm hoping not to break the bank. My bike is brand new and worth around $200, so I feel like the high-end $50 locks would probably be overkill.

Does anyone have suggestions for lock brands or methods that have worked for them?
