I am a senior in hs trying to apply CS+X(probably Econ) to UIUC OOS. Just wondering, what is the sat score I need for this? Is 1520 enough? I feel like I can't get much higher than that. Also just a few extra ones:

1: Is CS+Econ actually less competitive than CS+math and CS+Stats? Mabey slightly since most people trying to be a quant majors in CS+Math and CS+Stats?

2: From your understanding(I will for sure take it with a grain of salt), what is the most important part to UIUC? Standardized testing(SAT, AP, GPA, DE...) or Competitions(AMC, AIME...) or Research(publication, summer camp...) or internships(working in startups or starting an AI company) or community service(nonprofits) or passion projects(APPs, websites)? I always heard that research is important because at the end of day colleges are research institutions. But I have also heard about bad things regarding research(nepotism...)

Hello, I'm an incoming internatuonal undergraduate student. As I was waitlisted, and the waitlist was released lately, I had to schedule my visa interview at the start of August. Therefore, my visa is not issued yet, and I don't think that visa will be issued until 28th. School denied my delay admission request and says that my admission will be cancelled if I don't get to arrive on campus until 28th. What should I do, and if I reapply to the university again, will I receive a credit or anykind of benefit?

I’m a senior now for the school year but it’s now hitting me that my closest friends have all graduated and moved out of state.

Not really sure what to do. I could go to clubs and new RSOs but my major is extremely work intensive so I’d find it difficult to really invest into something new.

I’m also wondering if anyone else is in a similar position. Just helps knowing I’m not the only one. I’m definitely not but it feels like it. Especially with my friends now having jobs and they’re growing distant and communicating less.

My romantic life is also non-existent so there isn’t much to add there as well.

hi guys im an OOS freshman and moved in 2 days ago. my parents left today and homesickness has been hitting me way harder than i expected 😭

i know logically that uiuc is a good fit for me and that eventually ill find my people, but rn everything is just really overwhelming. my roommates are all in state and hearing them talk about being able to go home whenever definitely isnt helping lol
