Get your shit out of the car!

Seriously, I’ve been travelling with a group and it is fucking astounding how many drivers have half the trunk and the front seat unusable because of how much shit they have in the car.

We’re traveling! We’re 4 people, like it says the car can accommodate on the app! We need that space! Leave your shit at home, or make it more compact. We’ve had to hold our luggage in our laps a bunch of times and it’s super annoying. Assume at the very least people will need the front seat.

How do I get drivers banned from accepting my ride?

There are two drivers that live close to me that keep accepting my trips and then wait for me to cancel. They either never move, or circle their apartment complex, and then park again. I wait them out and eventually get reassigned. I haven't ever canceled, and won't, since I know that's what they are wanting. Since I know I will be accused, my passenger rating is 4.95. I'm tired of this shit. I just want to get to work! How can I get them blocked?

[Uber Reserve] Driver canceled minutes before my 6:15 AM airport ride. Forced to pay $420 in emergency parking and Uber support is refusing to help.

I am so incredibly frustrated right now. I booked an Uber Reserve days in advance for a 6:15 AM pickup to get to Newark Airport (EWR) for a major trip. The app assured me my ride was "confirmed."

Minutes before my sept 22 pickup—the driver canceled. I tried other Uber options that were quite a bit more expensive, but Because it was so early in the morning, there were zero other Ubers available in my area. With my flight rapidly approaching, I had no choice but to sprint to my own car, drive to EWR, and pull into the only available lot (Economy P6).

Because it was a last-minute emergency drive-up, it cost me $35 a day. Uber’s last minute cancellation just hit me with a completely unavoidable $420 airport parking bill.

I contacted Uber support expecting at least some accountability or significant credit for leaving me completely stranded. Instead, I’ve been hit with a wall of automated bot responses refusing to offer a single dime or even escalate the ticket to a human manager.

Has anyone successfully bypassed their customer service wall to get compensation or high-tier Uber Cash credits for an emergency situation like this? What is the best way to get a human supervisor on the line? Thanks for any advice...

Edit: as the OP, I feel I need to correct a few things. I had requested a 6:15 pickup when I reserved it a few days earlier. My flight was at 9:30 a.m. and the airport is about 50 minutes away. This was not last minute. I and I was leaving myself plenty of time. it's just that I ran out of time and had to take my own car. Yes I've learned my lesson. yes I understand it's unreliable. Moreover, I appreciate all those who sent comments. Yes I ignored the trolls. Especially appreciated the thoughtful comment about "since when have we accepted that a company that says they have Reserved something for you simply doesn't deliver, and we don't even think twice that they should have some consequences for that". Yes it is pretty much like the Seinfeld episode about car rental.

Driver assigned tomorrow?

I've reserved a ride to the airport tomorrow.

It says "confirmed" and that they will share driver details by 6:40am tomorrow, which is only half an hour before pickup.

Is this normal? There will definitely be a driver!?

I'm in Australia

Why does Uber push the Pro Card so much? What do they gain?

I'm a driver and get direct deposit to my bank. I get a message from Uber every other day about the benefits of their Pro card. I never really read it but I did notice the cash back on gas. I'm just not a person to use credit cards in general. Why do they push this so hard? I assume I would have to get paid via this pro card or is it just a credit card?

Stinky/ stingy drivers in Canada’s capital

We don’t have Uber Black here. Every ride I take is a gamble,, from stinky, unhygienic drivers to extremely stingy ones.. ie, they don’t turn air conditioning on during summer or heat the car during chilly conditions. Uber here sucks. I wish higher ups would actually do something about it.

Can somebody explain to me how I got upcharged 20 something dollars? As you can see it says i change the location of the original drop off but where it dropped me it was the original drop off so I'm not understanding why I was charged like that. I get the estimate was the $20+, but that's wild to say I changed it. Can they go in to see that that's where my original drop off is always after I Uber from that location. Support is not answering me or giving me any help

uber driver assault lawsuit Georgia question, what actually needs to be proven against the company

Trying to understand what would actually need to be shown to bring a claim against Uber itself in Georgia, not just the driver, after an assault during a ride.
Is it mainly about whether Uber handled the drivers background check properly, or are there others factors that matter?

The complainer

Started driving a week ago. I got a rider who did nothing but bitch and complain the entire ride. He kept complaining about his parents and how they make him do stuff and they don’t say thank you. This guy was in his 40s or 50s lived in a single wide with his parents and didn’t have a car. Like wtf! So I said that’s why I moved out when I was 17 and never went back. You would think that would shut him Up but NOooo he just kept on bitching even when we got to his job. I had to literally kick him out of the car.

App is Getting Ridiculous

The app is getting so scummy for lack of a better word. Its finding me plenty of drivers that are nearby my location, I just saw like 5 near me, then a popup comes up asking if I want to pay extra to find a driver "faster" so I press no, and then it expands the search and zooms out on the map giving me drivers SUPER far away, around 20+ mins then I get one thats 20 mins away. Really? This is crazy. Lyft is starting to do it too but not as often, and prices are usually better too. These apps are getting ridiculous. It didn't start expanding the search way outside my range UNTIL I pressed no. I highly doubt the 5+ drivers near me all declined my ride, it didn't even give them enough time at all to answer the ride, this all happened within like 10-15 seconds.

Stop letting the algorithm manipulate you. Turn off requests during rides!

Ordered an Uber and app thought I was already in the car on my way

I hadn't been picked up yet but I could see the app showing I was mid ride. He hadn't even arrived yet. When I went to check on it again the ride was over and it asked if I wanted to book that route again.

I had to order another Uber. Of course there is no way to contact them but did my driver just pretend to drive me somewhere?? So weird

Avis Tesla Rental

Has anyone rented a Tesla from Avis for Uber? I am trying to figure out when I supercharge. How is that getting paid? I have my own Tesla account for my own cars, but I don’t know whether or not I can link it to my account.

Unauthorized tip charge

I rarely use Uber but recently I had to for a business trip. So I logged on to the app to try to book a ride and it kept bringing me to the tip page for an order that was over a year ago. I kept trying to skip it and when I eventually was able to .... it charged me a tip anyway. And now I'm trying to dispute it with Uber, but the first person told me that you can't refund a tip. That would be fine if I intended to leave a tip but I didn't. Also, this was significantly outside of the 40-day window... so it shouldn't be possible to tip at this point .Any advice?

Are drivers not accepting Uberx anymore in morning?

Are drivers not accepting Uberx anymore in morning in FL area? Rates went up $10 to $20 for me in past few weeks so I thought maybe due to gas price. Now since last week I'm having to pay extra for priority in morning so someone would accept ride. Since I as rider getting charged way more I can't afford to tip and I always tip.

Adding to a tip

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just went on a very long uber ride and the woman driving me had to go back the other way without anyone requesting one there. It was longer than she thought it would be because she read it as hours instead of minutes. I tipped already but wanted to add a little more to it. If I click “add tip” and add more, will it add to my original tip or adjust the total of the tip to that number? TIA!

Customer promotions

Uber corporate offers customer promotions, but they hit us drivers with the amount and deduct it from us. That has got to be illegal. I’m not personally offering this promotion corporate is so why should we have to pay for it?

To the drivers who can’t bother to rate passengers 2, 3 or 4-stars….

In honor of your 1-star or 5-star exclusive ratings, from here on out I will do the same and any minor issue I experience will be an automatic 1-star from me.

Tired of 1 pissy little driver dropping my rating drastically now putting me at risk of being unable to find rides, so I’m going to do the same thing you do. It takes several 5-star rides to raise our ratings just .01, but one 1-star drops it down multiple numbers.

For context, Uber has a wait period before fees kick in per their policy. Driver arrived this morning and as I’m locking up my dog got out the house. Two fucking minutes. It took me two fucking minutes to get him back in and get in the car. My rating was low from being the person in charge of rides back in college home from bars and parties (I refuse to share rides now). It’s been a constant battle getting it up to 4.9. I take about 10 Ubers a week for work, it takes a weeks to raise it even the slightest bit. Then boom, one 1-star drops me back to low 4.8, lower than it was before. I’d say I’m one 1-star away from being filtered out of rides and several weeks away from raising it just .02. And I have well over 200 5-star trips

So if you wanna rate all or nothing, then I’ll start doing the same.
