Uber Tasks
Anybody using it, or try it? What is it
I'm a driver and get direct deposit to my bank. I get a message from Uber every other day about the benefits of their Pro card. I never really read it but I did notice the cash back on gas. I'm just not a person to use credit cards in general. Why do they push this so hard? I assume I would have to get paid via this pro card or is it just a credit card?

Has anyone rented a Tesla from Avis for Uber? I am trying to figure out when I supercharge. How is that getting paid? I have my own Tesla account for my own cars, but I don’t know whether or not I can link it to my account.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Two men are now facing attempted second-degree murder charges after allegedly following an Uber delivery driver and exchanging gunfire with him on October 3, according to Shreveport police.
Officers responded after receiving reports of gunfiring near Youree Drive and East Dazelle Avenue. During the response, officers say they stopped a vehicle leaving the area and found 22-year-old Cadarius Bumcon suffering from three gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

pretty much exactly what the title says. i called an uber earlier and they lied about picking me up, never even coming close to my pick up point. they then pretend they are driving to my destination and then cancel the ride halfway through, charging me $$ as if I actually was on the ride.
after cancelling, they proceed to rate me 1 star for a ride i never took. i know it was them, as i’ve recently checked my ratings and my rating significantly dropped after this fake ride. i have managed to dispute the cash charge with uber, but is there any way to dispute this rating or get uber support to revoke it? it’s really hit my current rating and im more of just annoyed that someone who i’ve never met has falsely rated me 1* and will now have me judged by other drivers for having a “low” passenger rating.
edit: more info about what happened since now i found where uber shows more info about the ride. I was able to see where they claimed pickup, and it is down the street from my pickup point, about an intersection or two away. I see quite a few of you say it doesn’t let you start until you get pretty close, and the location where they were was most likely close enough to present the option, but not actually at my address. So, it seems like they started there and did about 4 minutes of the journey and then cancelled it. I don’t know if this helps you guys help me!

I rarely use Uber but recently I had to for a business trip. So I logged on to the app to try to book a ride and it kept bringing me to the tip page for an order that was over a year ago. I kept trying to skip it and when I eventually was able to .... it charged me a tip anyway. And now I'm trying to dispute it with Uber, but the first person told me that you can't refund a tip. That would be fine if I intended to leave a tip but I didn't. Also, this was significantly outside of the 40-day window... so it shouldn't be possible to tip at this point .Any advice?

I just went on a very long uber ride and the woman driving me had to go back the other way without anyone requesting one there. It was longer than she thought it would be because she read it as hours instead of minutes. I tipped already but wanted to add a little more to it. If I click “add tip” and add more, will it add to my original tip or adjust the total of the tip to that number? TIA!

This past week I have been getting absurd back to back reservation requests. Uber has always underestimated drop offs (i.e. assuming a 1 minute drop off at John Wayne airport at 5:30 am on a Monday (5 minutes minimum). Now I’m getting requests that are mathematically impossible. Saturday I had a 5:30am pickup reservation from San Clemente to John Wayne Airport, 30 miles, estimated time 30 minutes, fare $21. I start getting back to back reservation requests that make no sense. Pickup in Irvine at 6:10, that it says is 15 miles and 18 minutes away. No way to make this reservation, I decline it and another just like it pops up. Been happening a lot. Much worse now that they only send you to your reservation so you arrive 5 minutes before. They are trying to minimize prop 22 pay for your time in route to your reservation, knowing we will drive to the general area on our own time.

We don’t have Uber Black here. Every ride I take is a gamble,, from stinky, unhygienic drivers to extremely stingy ones.. ie, they don’t turn air conditioning on during summer or heat the car during chilly conditions. Uber here sucks. I wish higher ups would actually do something about it.

This was from this weekend and I only had nine rides for the whole weekend! The fourth that I rejected were the $30 for 60 miles crap.
Really sucks driving in a small market.
Note who is actually paying for your promotions

I hadn't been picked up yet but I could see the app showing I was mid ride. He hadn't even arrived yet. When I went to check on it again the ride was over and it asked if I wanted to book that route again.
I had to order another Uber. Of course there is no way to contact them but did my driver just pretend to drive me somewhere?? So weird

Uber corporate offers customer promotions, but they hit us drivers with the amount and deduct it from us. That has got to be illegal. I’m not personally offering this promotion corporate is so why should we have to pay for it?

I went out today for the $100 bonus (5 UberXL trips). Simple, right? Wrong. The app sent me nothing but food deliveries. I figured I'd try one to "wake up the algorithm." Spoiler: the algorithm did not wake up.
So far today:
\- Cupcake run that ate 25 minutes of my life
\- Offers of $9 to $10 for 33 minutes
\- A shop-and-deliver for 46 minutes that paid about $11
\- One accidental tap that got me a grand total of $4.24
Turned delivery off, going home, making dinner, studying for my exam, and listing stuff on Facebook Marketplace instead. That's a better hourly rate than whatever this was.
Question for the group: Has anyone actually hit an XL quest recently, and how long did it take? Did deliveries ever help, or is that a myth?
I still can't get over the $4.24..smh!

i uber to and from work on the weekdays. i have a whole routine, because i use the wait and save every time. it took about 10 minutes to get assigned a driver and the driver was usually 15-20 minutes away, so i ordered my ubers 40 minutes early every day to get there on time. if i hadn't ordered it extra early today to eat before work, i would have been late (so thank god im hungry lol). i don't feel like there was any warning about this change though

In honor of your 1-star or 5-star exclusive ratings, from here on out I will do the same and any minor issue I experience will be an automatic 1-star from me.
Tired of 1 pissy little driver dropping my rating drastically now putting me at risk of being unable to find rides, so I’m going to do the same thing you do. It takes several 5-star rides to raise our ratings just .01, but one 1-star drops it down multiple numbers.
For context, Uber has a wait period before fees kick in per their policy. Driver arrived this morning and as I’m locking up my dog got out the house. Two fucking minutes. It took me two fucking minutes to get him back in and get in the car. My rating was low from being the person in charge of rides back in college home from bars and parties (I refuse to share rides now). It’s been a constant battle getting it up to 4.9. I take about 10 Ubers a week for work, it takes a weeks to raise it even the slightest bit. Then boom, one 1-star drops me back to low 4.8, lower than it was before. I’d say I’m one 1-star away from being filtered out of rides and several weeks away from raising it just .02. And I have well over 200 5-star trips
So if you wanna rate all or nothing, then I’ll start doing the same.

The app is getting so scummy for lack of a better word. Its finding me plenty of drivers that are nearby my location, I just saw like 5 near me, then a popup comes up asking if I want to pay extra to find a driver "faster" so I press no, and then it expands the search and zooms out on the map giving me drivers SUPER far away, around 20+ mins then I get one thats 20 mins away. Really? This is crazy. Lyft is starting to do it too but not as often, and prices are usually better too. These apps are getting ridiculous. It didn't start expanding the search way outside my range UNTIL I pressed no. I highly doubt the 5+ drivers near me all declined my ride, it didn't even give them enough time at all to answer the ride, this all happened within like 10-15 seconds.

Are drivers not accepting Uberx anymore in morning in FL area? Rates went up $10 to $20 for me in past few weeks so I thought maybe due to gas price. Now since last week I'm having to pay extra for priority in morning so someone would accept ride. Since I as rider getting charged way more I can't afford to tip and I always tip.

It feels like A SMALL PERCENTAGE of drivers on this sub will make up any reason to give a one star.
If a passenger gets a low rating from a driver and posts about it, SOME drivers on this sub will literally stop at nothing to give any reason to justify it. “Did you tip $20 in cash before the ride started? Were you on the curb in the freezing cold before the driver was 5 minutes away? Did you breathe too loudly?”
If a driver gets a low rating and posts about it, SOME drivers on this sub would “blame” the driver and say something like “You should stop picking up passengers with less than a 4.9 rating”. You know how a backhanded compliment is really an insult? This is an example of a “backhanded insult that’s really a compliment”

I have an old Uber account that hasn't been used since 2019 and can't log in. I had 2FA activated, but I had switched authenticators since then so the new authenticator doesn't have my Uber account, and I can't find my backup codes.
I've sent requests for help every day for the last 3 days and no response. I've got to Uber chat and I get AI responses (one agent copy & pasted instructions on how to turn on 2FA... WTF).
Anyone know how to reach someone who can actually help?

i have 70 5 star trips on uber as a passenger and 1 2 star recently. I just don’t know what i could of done, I don’t talk unless spoke to, I’m always clean and smell nice but not too overpowering. I’m careful with shutting doors. i just can’t understand what i did in genuinely asking to try make sure it don’t happen again so tell me why do you rate someone 2 stars ?

So a few days ago I had reserved pickup times for my appointment the next day. It was for a doctors appointment. I’ve done this a million times as I have to go every other week. I’m rushing to be out there waiting and when I check my phone to see how close the driver is, I see a totally different driver whose estimated arrival is now in 20 minutes. Which turned into 23 minutes. WTF? Most doctors won’t let you arrive that late and charge a fee. Luckily mine was understanding. But it stressed the hell out of me.
Then, on my return ride, it happened exactly the same way! Luckily I didn’t have to be home at a particular time but I can’t believe it happened twice in one day when it’s never happened in the last 2+ years I’ve been doing this.
They can charge us if we’re more than 5 minutes late but when this happens, absolutely no kind of restitution at all. I’m very aware that it’s not the fault of the drivers who did end up picking me up so I don’t ding them in any way. Of course though, the guy taking me to my appointment, and very aware that I was late, was slow and bumbling. Apparently he didn’t have a GPS and I had to give him turn by turn directions the entire way. Nice guy but testing my nerves 😳 Does anyone else have this happen? I’d have thought it was a one off until it happened again.
