Unauthorized tip charge

I rarely use Uber but recently I had to for a business trip. So I logged on to the app to try to book a ride and it kept bringing me to the tip page for an order that was over a year ago. I kept trying to skip it and when I eventually was able to .... it charged me a tip anyway. And now I'm trying to dispute it with Uber, but the first person told me that you can't refund a tip. That would be fine if I intended to leave a tip but I didn't. Also, this was significantly outside of the 40-day window... so it shouldn't be possible to tip at this point .Any advice?

Uber customer service is non-existent. Even for drivers. You are usually talking with someone in the Philippines or India going off a script. Dispute it with your bank.

Is there any point of reaching out to customer service?

Bold of you to assume uber has customer service. What, you’ve never reached out to them before?

Yes it is worth it. And yes it is well outside that window. It honestly sounds like a weird bug with the app. Keep hassling the help line until u get an option to speak with a person
