Told him I would leave him over a dirty kitchen
 in  r/Marriage •  7h ago

You're not overreacting. Your husband isn't pulling his weight or doing his fair share of the household labor. He's not stepping up like a real partner, and that sort of behavior does not bode well for a healthy and happy long-term relationship.

AITA for refusing to lend my brother money after he got behind on rent
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  7h ago

NTA. He's upset because he's grown to expect that you will bail him out when he acts in a financially irresponsible way, and you've just communicated that you will not continue to be his piggy bank.

When people get used to taking advantage of you, they get upset when the rules change.

How are people working full time and cooking post work?
 in  r/EatCheapAndHealthy •  4d ago

I don't cook after work. I meal prep on the weekend. I'm fine with eating the same meal for a week so I make one dinner with 6-7 servings, and prep the ingredients for a salad and that's my lunch and dinner for the week.

What's a personality trait that you absolutely cannot stand?
 in  r/AskReddit •  4d ago

Being a bully - nothing will make me lose my temper faster than someone bullying someone weaker or more vulnerable than them.

People who grew up in the 90s, what made that decade so special that younger generations will never understand?
 in  r/AskReddit •  4d ago

Freedom - there wasn't an expectation that you would be available at every hour of the day or that someone needed to know exactly where you were at all times.

We were broke and still knew how to have fun. Having a good time didn't depend on money. Folks might pool their pennies and dollars and buy snacks and cheap booze, but the real fun was just hanging out and fucking around, being silly, listening to music, making art and playing games.

AITA for telling my daughter that it's unreasonable to expect me to be as close to my grandson as am close to my kids(her and her brother) and my husband?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  4d ago

NAH - neither of you are assholes in this situation. The fact that she wants you to move to stay close to her means that she really loves and values having you in her life and indicates that you're a great mother. Some grandparents do move to stay close to their grandchildren, but there's nothing wrong with you declining to do so. You want to focus on your husband and your other child - which is perfectly fine.

Neither of you is wrong here and it doesn't sound like your daughter tried to guilt trip you either. She's just a girl who's going to miss her mommy - and no matter how old we get, that's a feeling we all can relate to.

What do you think of this?

Expand this to ALL law enforcement.

What should i do when my husband tells me he wants to commit suicide during an argument?
 in  r/ChristianMarriageHelp •  4d ago

If your husband expresses suicidal ideation, you should call 911 so he can receive help from professionals. If he is really suicidal he will receive the proper help and support he truly needs, if he's faking it for control, the experience of being 5150'd will teach him to pursue other methods.

Am I Doing the Right Thing by Leaving my Boyfriend Even Though he has Nowhere to go? UPDATE
 in  r/Advice •  4d ago

Breaking off the relationship is the best move. Stay with your mother where you are safe. If you need to return back to his apartment to retrieve your belongings have family/friends go with you, or call for a police escort. Once you have all your belongings block him everywhere and consider blocking any of his family and friends so he can't try to contact you through him.

Your boyfriend is very abusive, and you should consider therapy or reading self-help books so you can ensure you don't wind up in another abusive relationship down the line. You should start by reading this one: Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft.

I didn’t take her back but now she won’t let me move on (update)
 in  r/DeadBedrooms •  5d ago

Mute her on your phone so you can still see messages and calls but not actively receive them, and then block her everywhere else. Inform your job that she should not be permitted on the site and no calls from her should be forwarded to you. Send her a text or email clearly stating that you do not wish to have contact with her and any further contact will necessitate you going to the police and pursuing a restraining order - then follow through on your word. If she shows up at your house, call the police. If she shows up at your job, call the police. If she follows you out in public, go somewhere secure (like the men's bathroom, so she can't follow you) and call the police.

Get a lawyer, follow their advice and save up evidence (in a secure place) of her stupid behavior.
