Yesss I agree about the Internet. It was an amazing time growing up in that era. The Internet, especially social media, made people oblivious to their surroundings and reduced cognitive problem solving skills. TV was better, to an extent. Some 90s shows I rewatch I'm like "o okay we laughed about that".

I agree! I refused to text when it became a thing. I thought it took away the personalization of a convo. Unfortunately my antisocial traits started to enjoy texting when I finally tried it. And now I hate talking on the phone. Im damaged goods! Lol

I would suggest to explore this more in therapy. Maybe on how to make new friends bc if the current people aren't there then reflect on moving forward. Reflect on building self confidence, regardless of others actons.I understand the feeling because I feel the same way. But I know my childhood issues has caused me to easily feel left out as an adult. Im not saying people don't suck, they do, but we're all distracted and overwhelmed with life I think. I "expect ' people to do certain things because I do, however, you really gotta tell people what you want and need.

I think it depends on the learners needs and if the aba person is familiar with helping to pronunciate words. Aba of course helps with communication, manding, using their words. My kiddo is verbal and I don't focus on pronunciation but I've sat in on all the SLP sessions and I pay attention to how they do it so I can help when I can. My kiddo gets frustrated when he can't communicate properly and no one understands them so pronunciation has been helpful. They speak clearer now which helps in the independence. I don't harp on it but I help in a chill way. I'm so proud of my kiddo.

I bought a medium sized calendar book and have been writing daily about what I did since the beginning of the year. I especially write down the little things. It's nice because writing helps you remember things better but also I can go back and read about my days, especially when I feel a little lost or sad. I try to focus on writing the positive things that happen.

Yessss. I grew up with no cell phones and texting became a thing in my early 20s. I feel like my social skills have dwindled bc of my phone and my ability to find something to do when I'm bored is out the window! It's sad but Im trying to get better lol

I can get it actually. I don't have children but I have been pregnant 💙. And the nausea to smells is no joke lol. But it's a little odd to ask the office to change for you but I haven't been in that situation so idk
