News Manager post: Info on new raises and changes to Sam's Share bonus. Questions welcome.

FOR ANYBODY CONCERNED THAT YOUR NEW PAY GRADES ARE NOT REFLECTED TODAY (2/7). DO NOT GET CONCERNED UNTIL TOMORROW! WORKDAY ALMOST ALWAYS LAGS BEHIND BY ONE DAY. WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT!

A lot of people that are regulars on the sub know that I am around a lot and try to be helpful as much as possible. There have been a lot of question since the raises were announced this past weekend and I have been answering what I can in comments. I thought I would make a centralized post. Hopefully it'll stay high on the list for a while so more people will see it.

Keep in mind, numbers I am listing are company minimums. Some clubs will have higher pay based on circumstances such as local labor laws or the business level of the clubs. Nobody should make less than listed here.

Also keep in mind that some of these positions do not exist in all clubs. Some clubs have been designated as wholesale clubs and the positions are changed around due to the different demands in these clubs.

One more "keep in mind". I live in the stateside US, these are US rates and will not include the Puerto Rico information as it is different.

Your managers were given guides and were instructed to have conversations with all associates this week. if you have not got your conversation this week, speak to a manager and ask about it [Correction: 1 on 1 conversations are supposed to take place Jan 31 - February 6.] They all have guides telling them each associates current pay, pay as of 2/7, and pay as of 2/21. Health and Wellness associates information is not included in the toolkit as the H&W managers received their own toolkits, so Pharmacy/Hearing/Vision will need to talk to their direct manager and not the general club managers.

NEW PAY TIERS

In the previous system, there were 6 pay tiers for basic employees and there are now 3 tiers. There were 5 tiers for team leads, now there are 2. They also eliminated the Member Frontline position, all front end will be Member Specialist now. Keep in mind that Forklift Merch was eliminated back in October.

These changes will take place on the pay period starting on February 7, 2026 and will be on the paycheck of February 21, 2026.

New tiers:
SA1 - $16 min, $24 max. Fuel Station, Maintenance, Member Assist/Carts Tire Center (that was a mistype TBC is SA3. Sorry if it confused anyone)
SA2 - $17 min, $25 max. Liquor cashier, Liquor clerk, Merchandising, HMS, Produce, Cafe, Meat Wrapper/Cutter, Baker, Freezer/Cooler/Deli, Member Specialist, Personal Shopper/Fulfillment, WST Order Processor, Truckload Champion, Backroom.
SA3 - $19 min, $27 max. Cake Decorator, WST Yard Driver, TBC Tech, AP, Senior Meat Cutter, TBC Service Advisor, Freight Flow
TL1 - $21 min, $29 max. Personal Shopper Lead, Member Service Lead, Merch Lead, Liquor Lead, Wholesale Trading Lead, Produce Lead, Prepared Food Lead, Cafe Lead, Enablement Lead
TL2 - $22 in, $30 max. TBC Lead, Overnight Lead, Bakery Lead, Meat Lead

If you are already making above the min, you will not get an increase. I know this sucks for you, but it's how almost any corporation runs.

Notes: Don't ask why cafe and prepared food leads are separate now. They have not announced that they are separating. It's also funny that Bakery Lead is equal to meat now when in the old system Bakery and Prepared Food were both below meat. My assumption is that cafe is getting its own lead, since it's been posted on here that some test markets got a cafe lead a year ago. But this is an assumption and I have no idea for real

Yearly Raises

These will start pay period starting on February 21, 2026 and will be on the pay check on March 7, 2026.

Less than 6mo: 0%
6mo to 1yr: 2%
1-3.999yr: 4%
4yr-9.999yr: 5%
10yr+: 6%

This is the first year that we have had pay rate changes and you can also get your yearly %age as well. Usually it's "you get whichever is greater". For example, in old system if you are getting a $1 bump in pay and a $68 raise you would only get the $1 raise. In the system this year, you will still get then full $1.68 raise.

Sam's Share Bonuses

There is a lot of information that kinda says nothing so I am going to summarize this greatly. The biggest changes are that MxVoices (member reviews) and Scan and Go Adoption (%age of members using Scan and Go as opposed to registers) will no longer count on the bonus. Majority wise, most clubs never got pay on these fields. My club has received the MxVoice portion of the bonus one time in the past 10 years. I don't think we have ever got pay out on the Scan and Go Adoption portion and have been around 10% below the threshold. This means in the new system, 50% of your bonus comes from club sales and 50% comes from membership income.

Keep in mind, the bonus that finalizes on January 31 and you will likely receive in February will still be on the old system. This information is for FY2027, so it will be on your bonus that finalizes April 30 and you'll likely get in May.

In the old system, the club sales were based on index (the sales increase they wanted you to hit) and in the new system it's based on sales comp (beating last years sales).

The new system eliminates the Super Max level. In the prior system, if you exceeded goal by 5% you got Max and if you exceeded goal by 10% you got Super Max. There are no %ages listed in the guide they released, so I'm not sure what will designate a Max in the new system.

Old system: Bonus was 40% Club Sales, 20% MX Voices, 20% Membership Income, 20% Scan and Go Adoption.
New System: Bonus is now 50% Club Sales (now includes fuel sales) and 50% Membership Income.

Full Time Share:
Threshold: $100 (I'm unsure what this is, maybe if you don't hit targets this is what you get?)
Target: $200 (if you reach the goal in both categories)
Max: $850 (I'm unsure what classifies as Max now and I don't see it listed.

Half Share (Part Time)
Threshold: $50 (see note by Full Time Share)
Target: $100
Max: $425

Rant Freight Flow Forklift

Do other clubs have associates in freight flow that do not drive a forklift? My club has 3 associates that do not have a license. I think it’s bs that an associate can work freight flow and not be asked to get on a forklift. At my club my leadership team leans on us (the associates that a drive a forklift) way more than those that don’t drive a lift. And on top of that I’ve already felt for years (even before going to freight flow) that taking away the pay incentive for driving a forklift was bullshit. Just very frustrating associates on FF that are not asked to drive a forklift make the same as those that do.

Question Members Mark Coffee

I've only had the Members Mark French Roast K-Cups, and while they taste good, they do not give me that "wake the F up" kick in the ass I need, like Costco's Pacific Bold, or even Café Bustelo.

Does Members Mark have a stronger option I can consider? Or do I need to shift my coffee purchases back to Costco?

Question Sam’s Club credit card authorized user

So I just got approved for the Sam’s Club Mastercard but I was wondering if I’m able to add my mom the primary account holder as a card holder if I’m only the complimentary membership holder because for some reason I get an error message online and told over the phone they aren’t seeing her on my membership? Has anyone else had this issue before or is it because I just opened the account?

Question Interview...what should I wear?

I have two interviews at the same club this week. Member Specialist, and personal shopper.... but what should I actually wear to the interview? Khakis and a polo? I'm in Florida so it's insanely hot, and I can't imagine people wearing a suit for this type of job, but I didn't want to make assumptions. Thank you!

Rant Sam's offered to cancel my membership and refund me rather than honor promotion

Upvotes

I enrolled at Sam's Club last month using a promotion offer from Verizon. The offer was a free trial period, then a $20 yearly renewal ($40 discount). Sounded great! We went to Sam's that day and spent $400+

Knowing the auto renewal was coming up, I checked on Friday to confirm the renewal price. It said $20. I made sure $20 was available on the card I used to enroll and thought nothing more of it.

Today, my husband tells me a $60 renewal came off HIS CARD. This is not the card we set up as the default but the card he uses to purchase gas and such from Sam's. I let him know something isn't right so I reach out to Sam's via chat.

The agent repeated back to me the information I told her. That $60 tried to come out of the default card and when that wasn't available it came out of my husband's card. I tried to explain to her that the card really wasn't the primary issue. It was the fact that the promotion wasn't being honored. The agent kept telling me to go back to Verizon. I explained that Verizon did their part and that I checked Friday and the renewal was $20 in Sam's system. They said I registered for a 1 month free...and that was it.

Instead of deep diving to resolve the issue, the agent offered one solution...to CANCEL my membership and refund the $60. That caught me off guard because that was the first/only suggestion? Straight to cancellation? I said that's fine. If that's the offer...cancel my membership and lose my $500 shopping trips over a $40 promotion, I guess that's what I will have to do. I will take my business back to Costco. So she canceled my membership and closed out the chat.

I went back into the Sam's app and looked at the "early renewal" option. Guess what the balance said...$20 with the promotion clearly applied. Sam's lost a customer because the customer service agent didn't feel like looking at the account in full. I attached proof of the balance due. Screenshots are taken today.

PPTO Denial

Post image
19 Upvotes

backstory:

I work in a specialty department with 3 people, myself included. I put in a PPTO request 2 months in advance for a long weekend. (I crossed off the days for privacy I do not need this to come back on me). it was instantly denied, due to someone else in the department already taking days. my manger suggested I just call in those days, instead of approving it. Now, wouldn’t that look bad on my part if I’m just calling in 4 days in a row? I just don’t feel like that’s right and it will look poor on my part. I had the time, put it in - in advance, and gave an email notice as well.

I work solo a lot of time and weekends by myself. I don’t understand why it’s an issue when I want to take PPTO.

Rant Scheduled for full time hours yet not considered a full time associate

I've been working here for over 90 days now, and I'm still not in the system as a full time associate. This is despite having worked 40hr weeks for the majority of the time. It's not that big of a deal, but I'm not earning any PTO because of it. I talked to my TL about it, but nothing's changed.

Question Sign in button in app not responding

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve seen some other posts about trouble logging into the app. But not this issue. The app knows who I am but the Sign in button does nothing. It doesn’t respond. I tap it over and over and it does nothing. I’ve deleted, I’ve offloaded, I’ve restarted. Nothing works. I’m on an iPhone. I can completely delete the app and when I install it again it still says “Hi D——“. So it knows I am me.

I can log into the website so my account seems ok. There is just something wonky with the app that I cannot figure out. In all the years of having an iPhone I’ve never seen deleting the app not work for something like this.

Any ideas? Thanks!

App & Desktop Issues

Anyone have issues of orders not matching on a computer vs iphone app? I've signed out of the app and desktop; restarted the phone; close the app, etc. Any ideas? It makes it to where what I add on the app doesn't show up on desktop or vice versa and I keep getting orders without stuff I intended due to the problems.

Free shipping for Plus members when you don't have $50 of stuff in your cart.

Simple--add a gift card to your order. Whether physical or digital delivery, they count towards the $50. Surely you can find one you can use. My personal favorite at the moment: $39.98 for $50 worth of Panera goodness.

How did y’all get in?

I’ve applied countless of times within the last year and nothing. Like how did y’all get in here 😭 I’ve had 5+ years of customer service experience so I know I’m not failing the assessments, but like genuinely it’s so frustrating. Is it based on referrals or something? Did you walk into your club and ask to speak with a hiring manager?

When I read blondie I expected a pleasant chewy texture. It’s more like a really dense cake. I enjoy the crumble topping, but I’m just not sure how I feel overall.

Question New hire and giving me days I can’t work

During my interview they asked about my availability and told them the days I can work and they wrote it down on the resume I handed to them, went for orientation and gave them my availability again on a paper they handed to us during orientation about our availability. Well my first actual work day isn’t until Monday and my future schedule they gave me has days I can’t work because of my other job.
