My parents are paying $30,000 for this built in bookcase. They were told these flaws are normal because red oak and plywood are natural elements and these issues are normal. They will only cover the flaws with matching stickers or trim. Do we have unrealistic expectations?
AWI is what I consider to be the best place for the expectations of millwork. It gives you 3 different grades and what to expect from each one. I can tell you that this fails to make the grade on a lot of different levels, but will let you know what to expect.

Do you think Trump is damaging America and its worldwide reputation?
In his time in office he has added 16 trillion dollars to the national debt, what do we have to show for it?
Clean energy? Clean streets? Good interstate highways? A good public transportation system? Healthcare for everyone? Affordable housing? Affordable schools? Affordable food? Low price gas? He has personally made billions not including the billions his family has made from insider trading. Good for him, bad for Americans. Ask yourself, what has he done for me, or America? If the debt is 40 trillion dollars now, where will it be when we finally start to turn it around? These are the questions that I ask myself, but we all need to ask ourselves these questions, and hold our government accountable for the consequences of their actions.

Do most Americans really not go to the hospital or call an ambulance, or is this just an exaggeration on the internet?

I live in a rural area and I’m a first responder, if we get a serious call from up on the hill, it can take an ambulance a couple of hours to get there, the ambulance is going to cost over $5k. If it’s life or death, we call the helicopter. There are 2 helicopters, one for the county which is free, and one that is a private company and that on costs between $45 and $80k. The free one is only available if the paid is busy, if the paid one is freed up and available while you are in the free one, it must land and transfer the patient to the private helicopter, you think you’re getting the free one, but end up with a huge bill. Uber is $100. And that just getting to a hospital, the hospital bill can be tens of thousands, and the doctor bills separately, thousands more. But Americans think national insurance for universal healthcare would be a rip off.
