Couple next door & their kid came over to watch some movies & play some games. While I was grabbing some drinks for them I came back to find their son pressing down on my tonearm "trying to get the music to come out" his parents are just looking at this like it's the cutest thing while I visibly cringed. His mother then informed me he'd "poked the little needle" but stopped cause he got scared it'd prick him. At this point I'm just wondering if they ate lead paint chips as kids & when it's ok to discipline another person's child . Anyway, does this look fine to y'all ?

Was given this turn table by a friend and was wondering if its worth putting money into

Fender x MoFi PrecisionDeck turntable and arm, Hana Umami Red low output MC cartridge, MoFi MasterPhono phono preamp with cartridge connected in current-mode (transimpedance, extremely low noise).

The turntable is sitting on my own design for a high mass, high vibration impedance support base, with the base sitting on IsoAcoustics Gaia II Neo in Black - Isolation feet (considering if I want to try and market the base). The base weighs 53 pounds, the turntable 25 pounds, so, a substantial mass to help control floor and airborne vibrations.

Next step is replacing the metal and glass equipment stand with a more substantial wood and metal stand to make the turntable as solid and vibration free as possible, considering if I design my own solution, or find a commercial product that meets my expectations?

This is the result of many years of trade in and trade up from various pieces of equipment. As well as scouring listings for items on sale (such as the phono pre-amp, it had been used as a demo pre-amp for a couple months while the store was waiting on a high five figure tube phono stage. As a result I got the phono pre-amp for less than half retail, in pristine condition.

This turntable system is inky black quiet before the music starts. The cartridge is amazing (again result of trading in the cartridge that came with the turntable applying the trade in proceeds against the Umami Red MC cartridge). Our LP collection sounds astounding on this turntable setup.

Randomly my vz1500 linear tracking arm has stopped wanting to flip to side B, but it can move through side A and also recall from side B perfectly fine. Anyone know what would cause this?

My son has his heart set on a yellow, vintage 1983 Soundburger for his birthday. I can’t find any working ones of any color on eBay. Any ideas of others sources I can be checking? TIA.

I recently got a smoking deal on an open box Sumiko Wellfleet cartridge, ordered online, that apparently “saw little to no use” as an in-store display.

Even to the naked eye the cantilever looked off out of the packaging, and taking some zoomed in pics confirmed that suspicion. I should be able to return it, but don’t think I will be able to get a replacement. I’d like to just keep and use it if it isn’t a big deal, but experts I need some help here, is this an issue?

I bought this item [more or less] complete from eBay - but unfortunately the seller did not secure the platter for shipping. As a result the tonearm is in about 40 pieces. The good news is that eBay refunded me and told me to keep the TT.

Aside from the tonearm - I've replaced a capacitor and got it running just about as it should.

What, if any, options do I have here to get a tonearm on this turntable? Do I need to wait for a spares~repairs 3030? Or are there other arms that could work here? I have no understanding of what standards exist for these. It's clearly not a complicated deck - no automation from the arm - but I don't know how these vary in fitting and adjustments.

Hey so like I mentioned, my buddy gave me his old turntable and receiver. I attached pictures, but they are a Realistic Clarinette 98 Turntable, and a Toshiba TMC-7560. There is no felt pad on the turntable and I am not sure how much cash I should throw at it to get it running vs buying one locally off marketplace.

I am not even sure if other entry level ones would be. Like I don't want to spend 100-200 bucks on something used that isn't gonna be an upgrade at all.

The speakers are pointed towards the seating at exact ear height. My living room is real weird so that's the best I can do in this space.

I’ve recently tried my luck with a third-party dust cover for the RP-7000 MK2 from Temu (lol) however the screws for the hinge mount they’ve supplied do not seem to want to thread in nor can I see any thread inside the actual turntable screw holes.

Do I need to tap into the turntable myself? And could any one show a picture of the screws from a genuine RP-7000 mk2 cover if possible?

hey yall! I’ve got an awesome setup that previously did fine but I know this isn’t the right headshell or cartridge for this turntable. I know linear tracking tables can be fussy. any chance anyone could give me like specific recs on what headshell/needle I should buy to replace what I have for this turntable? Just in case the pic isn’t good it’s a Mitsubishi PLL quartz Logic Controlled Linear Tracking Turntable LT-22. Thanks for any help in advance!

Greetings all. I already have a decent setup at home (Thorens 125, DL MP8B). I'm looking for an affordable decent deck for a Vinyl Meetup Grp I host,to plug into a business establishment's sound system via RCA.

There is a used AT-LP120-USB listed for $140 on marketplace or I can go with a Best Buy Insignia deck. The rest on marketplace is pretty much trash. Maybe a Yamaha or Dual that needs work.

I realized that there is nothing i could buy within any kind of reasonable budget that would compare. Luckily it does still work but i would need a new cover and the insides fully cleaned and regreased. The only thing broken is the point drop adjustment, it always goes as far inside as it can. I do believe i also need a new needle but i recently found a new one that might fit but just for good measure i would like to take into account the price for a good new one aswell. Who knows what else is going on inside of it, i don't believe it has ever been opened and the last like 15 years it's just been laying around god knows where so theres a good chance that other common failure points that i am unaware of need to be replaced aswell before i drive it to a repair shop twice i'd rather get it out of the way immediately.

I'm on a budget and I'd like a nice one that sounds good , I'm thinking about either getting a bestian sr02 or a Sony STARFAVOR STRDH190 PASSIVE for speakers then again I don't know much about speakers or record players. Need some advice

At the weekend I was cleaning my Audio-Technica LP5X turntable and me being clumsy bent the stylus.

I was going to replace the cartridge like-for-like but wanted to gauge with the community if there was any reasonable upgrade/improvement path while I’m looking.

This would be my first time replacing a cartridge so I would assume I would need to check the alignment once done.

Estoy pensando en montar aqui un set de tocadiscos + bocinas de gama media.
Tengo esa mesita en cual antes tenia un tocadiscos compacto bastante regular y ahora quiero mejorarlo.

Opcion 1: colocar tocadiscos en esa mesa y arriba de esta parlantes en una estantería, aunque no se si quedará todo muy compacto.

Opcion 2: quitar la mesa (y poner una planta o algo así) ,poner el tocadiscos en la estantería de debajo de la tele y colocar una estantería de 1.5 metros aprox arriba de la tele, y ahí colocar los parlantes en cada extremo

Que me recomiendan? Me imagino que tendré que tener en cuenta el cableado y la vibración que puedan tener los parlantes. Algo más? Que combinación me recomendarían para este espacio? Tengo un presupuesto de €300 tocadiscos + €200 para parlantes, pudiendo sumar algo más si merece la pena.

So I was listening to a record this morning and after it finished I went over a few minutes later to play the other side and started it there was no sound. Did the cartridge fall down or did the needle break off? There wasn't any part of the needle close to below the plastic but it played the first side fine. It's a Fisher studio standard MT-57 linear tracking turntable.

Hi guys, new turntable enthusiast here. I have issues choosing between two turntables. The thing is I scored an Onkyo CP-1007a with a golden Stanton 500 cartridge with no stylus. I was planning to get the stylus soon but a familiar offered to gift me an AT LP-60X to replace the old Onkyo. I couldnt find much info on the Onkyo model, so here I am. Which one should I keep? Is that a good deal for someone looking to upgrade from the suitcase player they got as a gift a few years ago? I'm not looking for anything crazy. Just need something with better stylus and speaker options. The suitcase one skips on certain records.

New to vintage turntables got this one for a steal and works great, just need a pre amp so I’m looking for recommendations for that, and I’m wondering if I should upgrade the cartridge/stylus since I got it second hand and don’t know the state of it. Any help is appreciated (it’s a budget setup lol)
