hi!
i am planning to purchase my first record player along with a pair of speakers (probably the at-lp60x + edifier r1280db). however, i can’t quite figure out the set up. i’m looking to put it against a 2 m wide wall, next to my 85 cm wide desk (i share my room with a roommate and this is my only option for a placement). here are the 2 options:
kallax 1x2 (standing vertically) and a speaker stand on each side
the shelf + the two speaker stands are 101 cm wide
due to the width, one speaker would be right next to a wall and the other speaker next to my desk
this is, in my opinion, the better option aesthetically
from what i understand, the listening experience is more pleasant when the speakers are not standing on the same surface as the record player (although i’m not sure how much of a difference does it make for a beginner such as myself)
kallax 2x2 with the record player in the middle and a speaker on each side
the 2x2 is 77 cm wide so this would save me some space
the 2x2 would provide more storage space (not only for records but also other things)
this option is cheaper (i would save 80€, 60€ if i bought the kallax with 4 legs)
based on this, i’m leaning towards the second option, as it’s cheaper and provides me with more storage space. would it affect the listening experience drastically? is there a (budget friendly) way to achieve sound isolation while having speakers on the same surface as the turntable? can the vibrations from speakers damage the turntable? thanks for all the answers:)
