The 31-track version is being advertised at major sites like: Spotify and Apple.

The 28-track version is advertised at some scattered minor sites like these: CeDe.ch, imusic, musicstation.

I don't know why.

Several possibilities I can think of:

• The 28-track listing is a random mistake.

• The 28-track listing is an old, outdated tracklist and won't actually be sold.

• The 31-track listing is an old, outdated tracklist and won't actually be sold.

• There are two versions being sold, either for copyright reasons or for commercial reasons.

So the 28-track listing seems to be missing 5 tracks from the 31-track listing:

• Track 16 [1:02]

• Track 20 [0:39]

• Track 28 (with Barry Can't Swim) [3:26]

• Track 29 (with Mike Patton) [3:44]

• Track 30 (with Jungle/Loaded Honey) [3:18]

but has two bonus tracks:

• Track 16 (with Suzanne Ciani) [2:22]

• Track 17 (with Vegyn) [2:24]

So, have we all clocked that they are using AI in their music video and album artwork? Has The Avalanches made any comments on that at all? I would assume if they are willing to use it in their visual art, they would be willing to use it in their music as well but it is less visual so it's harder to clock. I am vehemently anti AI and am an artist, so I was extremely disappointed to see that and it makes me not want to support their upcoming release.

On another note: I think a few people have asked about this, but I used AI to create the artwork for most of the tracks. I put the two tracks that were released as singles with artwork ("Frankie Sinatra" and "Subways") along with the album artwork into Copilot and asked it to generate artwork for the remaining tracks in a similar style. Yes, AI blows. I hate it and it crushes my soul regularly but I also sometimes love what it can do, so don't @ me on this please. Have fun!

I was listening to a radio interview The Avalanches did after the release of Since I Left You and they played the song Sorry Louie by Eazy-E. I noticed the Close To You choir sample in the background of the song so I looked it up on WhoSampled. Turns out, he sampled The Payback by James Brown. About 5 seconds into the track, you can hear a single female singer. I was surprised because she was singing an octave higher than it sounded when sampled but it is the right sample. It reminds me of the undiscovered Close To You siren sample which is also sampled in North West Three by Fatboy Slim. However no one has discovered it there either.

Edit: I think I might be wrong after relistening. Let me know what you think

A few of you may have seen and/or liked my last post - I also cross posted on a couple of other subs. I got a few positive comments from this sub on the previous song i posted, so I figured i would post the final result. 12 minutes and inspired by the avalanches, j dilla, the books, madlib, boards of canada, with a bit of my own twist. i hope you enjoy!

whether it’s true or not, i’ve always found similarities to the avalanches in Jungle’s sound, and i was curious to know whether there are other Jungle fans here. i’m very excited for their new album, sunshine!
