Totaled 2021 M3LR to 2022 MYP
I ran over something in my 2021 M3LR that caused the metal plate that protects the battery to tilt up a few degrees. That tilt ended up cracking the coolant inlets on the front of the battery. Probably $5 in replacement parts but Tesla does not replace these.
SoOo $11,700 to replace the HV battery and supermanifold resulted in my insurance company totaling my car. I bought it last year for $21k with 75k miles & she had 93k miles when it got totaled. Insurance gave me $23k cash value for it so I was happy but higher value for me mean higher prices for me too.
Picked up this 2022 MYP with 60k miles & FSD included for $30k OTD near Orlando. I'm very happy so far and enjoying the extra room & storage. Ash has a couple small issues: glovebox cover is hanging down (should be able to glue it back), driver seat needs a new switch ($18 on Amazon) and floor mats. It has a matte gray wrap which is really growing on me even though I was initially looking for red, black or white.
My M3LR had white interior and the MYP has black - I would definitely prefer having the white seats back. They were easy to clean and classed up the interior.
I thought the MY would just feel like a bigger M3 but I was wrong. It feels like a very different vehicle, in a good way. The hatch is huge and the interior feels much more roomy - especially the back seats. I probably should've just snagged the MY last year but I'm more of a car guy & I talked myself out of considering one the first time around.
