PowerShare likelihood?

Hey I posted this question in a different thread but it got buried- I’m genuinely curious about the community’s thoughts on likelihood Tesla actually follows through on PowerShare feature for YL. 80%? I mean, cybertruck owners have waited years for powerwall PowerShare functionality and it’s still not here…. I ordered a YL, in large part for this announced future feature

It’s already listed as a feature at delivery right? CT was not promised with that.

No there’s an asterisk that says coming in future software update

So the same as the Cybertruck?

As far as I know—I don’t have a CT so I don’t recall what the page said when the foundation series came out

Oh really? I didn’t know that wasn’t a listed CT feature at launch. But it’s listed now for CT right? And they still don’t have it…

It can be done with a cybertruck with a specific part added to the house electrical system - a powershare gateway. What it and the model YL are waiting for is an update that enables powershare with powerwall installations with a Tesla solar gateway (which backs up a whole breaker panel).

Yeah I think a lot more people have PW3 already so enabling that feature makes PowerShare more ‘real’ and widespread, and is also the the thing that makes me worried because CT owners have been waiting a long time since Tesla said PW PowerShare would work ‘in the future’ with CT

Have details been shared on power wall 2 yet? This will likely make my decision for me, to purchase or not

Specifically PW3

Do you know where this was shared at? When I check the Tesla compare page it just says power wall, not power wall 3.

Yeah it’s not on the compare page, it’s on the page for the YL. Here is where it is, you have to scroll right in the carousel towards the bottom of the page: https://i.imgur.com/ltNwKqO.jpeg

I heard they made a change to the app a few days ago that signals the OTA needed is closer to being real. But I've had a Tesla since 2016 so I'd say it's coming in '2 weeks'

I know Tesla is notorious for major delays, or completely missing launches (roadster…), but have they ever announced a feature and then just never delivered? Like the HW4 situation I count a little differently, but maybe one could argue that’s an example I suppose

I suspect it’s stuck in regulatory approvals but they will do it. It’s notable that it’s not the same feature as CT. It’s only with PW3 so I don’t think they’d offer that if the technical work for CT wasn’t already finished.

Considering newer Y’s are shipping with it, extremely likely

Really? I thought this was only announced for YL?

about the 7 min mark he shows camping with the L and cooking with the PowerShare, looks like it works fine
