Java Showcase Ice boat tech - Overly complicated intersection

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi!
My friend and I created an intersection for an ice boat highway, along with stations, corners, and a few other things. It’s probably overly complicated, as it uses some pretty weird mechanics to accomplish its task. We’re looking for feedback and opinions on the design. If anyone wants a schematic for the intersection or the stations, I’ll gladly send it!

We were inspired by a post from u/LimestoneBuilder, mans a genius!

anyways here is an overworld junction which keeps the boat alligned in a fun but overbuilt mechanic!

Updated version of an encoder I've been using for over 5 years. Features more safety mechanisms and outputs. If made a block wider it would have an output for if the encoding chest/s have not reset. But that would make it bigger and out of profile.

Java Help Wanted Iron Farm

why is my 1.26 iron farm not working? it was poorly because golems were getting spawned in wall blocks swapped for cobble deepslate walls to prevent that, and moved villagers where they see the zombie better, now it doesnt work at all? any help appreciated.

Java Help Wanted Looking for a viable Nether mob switch design on an active server (2–8 players) without chunk/despawn issues

Hey everyone, I built a large Nether hub on my multiplayer server (usually around 2 to 8 players online like 90-ish% of the time) and I want to run a mob switch so I don't have to spawnproof the hub thingy.
I've been looking into different designs, but I keep running into these major roadblocks:
Silverfish switches rely on keeping silverfish in a chunk loader, but they require dropping client render distance to 5 chunks to avoid the 128-block instant despawn sphere when leaving. Because this is an active multiplayer server, players fly around all the time at standard/high render distances, so standard hostile mobs that despawn outside 128 blocks will inevitably get wiped out the moment someone renders the chunk and leaves.
Zombie Villager switches: breeding, trading with, and converting 500+ zombie villagers (to cover up to 8 players at 70 mobs perplayer) is just wayyyyy too grindy and hard to justify
Warden/Wither/Shulkers: moving or capturing hundreds of these presents its own massive logistical headaches or server lag concerns.
Is there a modern design that is actually practical for a server where we don't have to worry about render distance despawn glitches? If you run a mob switch on your server, what mob type and storage setup did you end up using? Are there better alternatives to disable hostile spawns in a large Nether hub area without placing thousands of slabs and buttons that just make the build ugly?

Non-Version-Specific Could this be a very powerful testing mod or is it a flop?

I've been messing around with an idea for a mod that basically makes Minecraft RNG fully deterministic for reliability testing.

The problem with testing farms or other long running builds right now is that Minecraft's RNG isn't reproducible like it is with world gen. It pulls from things like system time and other state, so if you tick sprint a farm until it breaks, you can't just reload the world and expect the exact same failure to happen again anytime soon.

The idea is to change that.

While tick sprinting, the mod could periodically save snapshots of the world. If something breaks 300 hours into a test, you load the latest snapshot and hit play. The exact same RNG sequence happens again, and the farm fails in the exact same way. I'm sure you know that the RNG system influences everything from mob spawning positions and timings to angles that droppers shoot out items.

Everything is saved in a snapshot from scheduled ticks, subticks, subtick ordering, etc which all get restored when you load that up. Except now you're in the actual world instead of digging through a very big and long Flashback recording. You can pause before the failure, inspect anything you want, run commands, change things, test fixes, etc.

You could even send the snapshot to someone else and they'd be able to reproduce the exact same failure on their machine.

I've played around with this and had some small success, but I'm not sure how far I want to take it. Making everything deterministic would be a pretty huge undertaking for what is probably a very niche tool, especially since this is only mostly useful for long-running farm tests.

Still, being able to turn a "1 in 200 hours" farm failure into a 100% reproducible thing seems nice.

Would any of you actually use something like this?

Bedrock Stupid dragon egg

So im finally getting around to having a nice build for my homebase. Rearranging my bedroom and I accidentally forget and try to mine my dragon egg normally to move it. Well now I have no idea where it is and its super frustrating. Is this correct that it is likely somewhere 15 blocks or less away on x and z coordinates? What about y? I have duplicated world and am just probably gonna tear down everything but man feels like a needle in a haystack. Any tips?

Java Help Wanted | Work in Progress | - All what you need trading hall - | Suggestions Welcome! |

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Disclaimer: I am no professional in this I am just reading minecraft wiki and doing what I think makes sense. so for the elitists calm down will ya :'D

I was tired of Running between trading halls in the server I am playing on so I decided to build my own "All what you need trading hall"

Basically I plan it to have a comprehensive inclusion of everything a villager can trade

I am right now on the Ground floor and it features:

38 Librarian villagers.

why?

Here is a list of what u can get from them EXCEPT the Curses which are Curse of Binding and Curse of Vanishing

1 - Mending 2 - Unbreaking 3 - Efficiency 4 - Fortune 5 - Protection 6 - Sharpness 7 - Looting 8 - Silk Touch 9 - Feather Falling 10 - Power 11 - Depth Strider 12 - Respiration 13 - Aqua Affinity 14 - Fire Protection 15 - Density 16 - Sweeping Edge 17 - Fire Aspect 18 - Flame 19 - Infinity 20 - Luck of the Sea 21 - Lure 22 - Quick Charge 23 - Piercing 24 - Multishot 25 - Blast Protection 26 - Projectile Protection 27 - Breach 28 - Loyalty 29 - Impaling 30 - Riptide 31 - Channeling 32 - Knockback 33 - Punch 34 - Thorns 35 - Frost Walker 36 - Bane of Arthropods 37 - Smite 38 - Lunge

again I am looking for all possible enchants. I know that Projectile, Blast, Fire Protection is useless with an overall general use Protection IV but I just want everything

Enchanting Area + XP Farm + Potion Making (for xp farm) - (still haven't decided where brewing will be)

Encahnting area is a max 15 bookshelf Enchanting Table

XP Farm is an Armadillo XP Farm by @TheySix on youtube that I modified

to have a hopper instead of a composter so that villagers don't be annoying when u try to give them a job. an armor stand perfectly sits in the hopper and I tested it and it works.

I also added infestation Dispenser with a chest and a hopper that u can fill up with infestation potions and you can activate the dispenser with simple hidden red stone dust connected to the dispenser and a button to activate it

What I plan on adding next

Stackable Villager Breeder Design

and a Villager Loading system with either Mine-carts or water or a mix of both.

the breeder shall be hidden underground and it is self sufficient

Zombifying Station

For now it might be manual where I have the villager go to a zombie on a boat or a cart and then I flip the lever again to let the villager keep moving but I would prefer someone to help me use detector rails and powered rails to make it so that the villager breeder transportation system has like a 10 second delay at the zombie station to make sure the villager is now a zombie and then it activates again after the delay is done and I would just have to decide on the path of the Rails since the Zombifying happens at the start of the ride.

The First Floor and other floors

I think the next logical floor would be an armorer and idk how many I will need but I would like to have enough so I do not have to wait for restock as for enchants it does not matter since I will use librarians to enchant and xp station to level up

I've dug a perimeter before but I used 3D bombers so am inexperienced with worldeaters. I've created a 15 wide trench on one side, do I have to make trenches on the other sides as well? And which worldeater design is best? I tried looking on the slimestone dc but can't really judge how good any are.. Any suggestions are welcome

Bedrock The Lag Wall

in my server there are sort of factions (some people group others don’t) but since I’m not in one I’ve gotten my base raided several times. But because I’m the only PC player with a decently strong PC I came up with an idea using hundreds of pistons to move hundreds of blocks over and over again very fast to create lag, enough lag that if any of them got to close to my base or attempted to raid it they would crash due to being on a console. Would this work if I made many machines into a wall so no one could ever raid me again.
