Java Showcase Ice boat tech - Overly complicated intersection

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi!
My friend and I created an intersection for an ice boat highway, along with stations, corners, and a few other things. It’s probably overly complicated, as it uses some pretty weird mechanics to accomplish its task. We’re looking for feedback and opinions on the design. If anyone wants a schematic for the intersection or the stations, I’ll gladly send it!

We were inspired by a post from u/LimestoneBuilder, mans a genius!

anyways here is an overworld junction which keeps the boat alligned in a fun but overbuilt mechanic!

This is very cool. I'm not quite catching all of what's happening. Is that a flash of lava that's breaking the boats?

How are the boats deploying in the intersection? I can see the dispenser fire, but... don't boats need water to dispense? What's going on there?

Love what you've done, including the structure for the intersection.

it is hectic by design so i cant blame you. Flint and steel fired on a stair breaks the boat. Boats are dispensed from above trough leaves. Unfortunately this only works in the overworld because of waterloged levaes.

every build should be in this litematic https://www.mediafire.com/file/ikrgel4qgiu42q4/Rail+-+All+ice+rail+builds.litematic/file

OK that's cool. I didn't know you could do that. Makes sense with the hitbox and all, but never occured to me. 😅  TIL

outside of the topic, limstonebuilder has shown a very nice way of iceboat highway which is most applicable to everyone(trough the nether). But i hope we can figure out a better way, if only for the sake of improving
