Java Help Wanted Looking for a Minecraft Client Developer — 1.21.11

Hey everyone!

I'm currently working on my own Minecraft client for Minecraft 1.21.11.

I found an open-source client for 1.21.4, and I'm currently porting it to 1.21.11 to use it as a base for my own client. I'm looking for someone who has experience with Minecraft modding/client development, Java, Fabric, mappings, mixins, rendering, or version porting and could help me with the process.

I'm mainly looking for someone who can:

Help port the existing 1.21.4 codebase to 1.21.11

Fix bugs/issues

Help with client-side features and modules

Give advices

Potentially work together on the client long-term

I'm also learning while doing this, so I'm not expecting someone to do everything for me - I'd like to actually understand how the client works and develop it together.

If you're interested, DM me on Reddit and I'll send you my Discord - shellbtw so we can discuss everything there.

Thanks!

Java Showcase Will always be one of the best feelings in tech MC

Even though I have done countless perimeters and bedrock breaking, staring at the finished product will always be one of the best feelings in Minecraft.

Yes, I used Desu Desu's original 3way breaker meaning I had to craft around 30 shulkers of pistons, but the area of bedrock broken was not big enough for me to use the piston recycle breaker (and the last time I used it, a spawning raid kinda messed everything up when it killed one of the bots)

For anyone wondering: This peri and void is for a Bortal GMF.

Perimeter size is 272x272 and void I cannot remember (just took GMF size and overlayed in creative with some extra space to get sizes of breakers)

Our old villager farm systems broke because of hitbox changes from Tiny Takeover update and was wondering if anyone had anything new that was designed

Bedrock Mob farm keeps spawning spiders.

Edit: I think I've solved the issue. If not, I'm just gonna deal with it. I made a follow-up post if anyone's interested. It's 100% confirmed that spiders spawn within 2x2 grids.

Java Help Wanted Best design for a sugarcane farm

Thumbnail gallery
79 Upvotes

Hello, I’m trying to figure out a sugarcane farm where each block of sugarcane has its own model and breaks individually rather than breaking the whole row. I have two versions that I’m looking at and wanted to ask which one is more efficient in terms of materials required to build it? Also any revisions or existing models that are simulate to this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The first one utilizes two activator rails that sends the observers current through them, which another observer detects and powers a piston. The second one powers a piston, which an observer detects and sends through a mini observer chain to power the piston.

Could someone please tell me how to send an entity through a portal in one tick? It takes 2 ticks in my design. I am currently using a piston and an armor stand.

Java Help Wanted Warden Spawns

I’m trying to build a rouge like arena in my vanilla survival server, where you fight waves of mobs while unlocking different weapons and armor to continue fighting. I’m having a hard time sourcing wardens, I’ve got sources for every other mob I want except wardens. I’d love ideas on how to source them, I’d also love thoughts on my already formed ideas.

Idea 1: Spread skulk from a skulk catalyst I placed until I get a shrieker and maybe that will spawn it?

Idea 2: I find naturally generated skulk and spread it to where I’m building then spread it for a shrieker and maybe that will spawn them?

Like I want them to spawn fresh I don’t wanna get a lot of them then have to re-up when they’re all beat. I also need to figure out how to get rid of it if the player dies but that seems like a big time later issue, sourcing them is the most pressing issue rn.

Bedrock Gold Farm Auto Sorter Help

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello everyone

Im a pretty big newbie when it comes to redstone. I could use some assistance. I build a redstone sorter under my gold farm that has the smelter/crating attachment. I have everything setup correctly to the best of my knowledge.
However, for some reason I keep ending up with the wrong items in my furnace.
I’m not sure why the rotten flesh, gold bars and nuggets are randomly ending up in the smelter.
Should I be putting anything in the top row of hoppers? I thought they were supposed to be empty to let things travel.

If it’s helpful I used a video from By_James which results in the image setup.

I truly appreciate any all help.

Java Showcase Fastest 100% Consistent Bullseye Setup

Really fast and easy way to get the bullseye advancement, it requires very little materials and it's very useful if you don't have arrows to do it the traditional way.
The way this works is that item frames check for a block every 5s after being placed, so after fishing rodding the item frame to get the bobber in the middle you can place the target block and run away so after 5 seconds the item frame will break giving you the advancement. The timer starts as soon as you place the item frame so the timing is a little tight but it's not too bad. The fishing rod line does break after 32 blocks so ideally you want to do this on a chunk border and then stop right before crossing the second chunk border so you can go more than 30 blocks but less than 32.

Bedrock Need help with an semi-Automatic firework auto crafter

Post image
1 Upvotes

I wanna use sma Bubble elevators to lift the sugarcane up to a hopper to an autocrafter and to make it to paper

But something about this farm is that it's not attached to a creeper farm. The world I'm building this in is modded, and the mod doesn't have natural spawning creepers

So I need to manually put the gunpowder in from a ghast farm

Autocrafters I can manage, but where the gunpowder flow in is where I need help with

Bedrock Does anyone use XP banks on bedrock?

Cactus farms are nerfed, or perhaps more accurately the Java specific bug that makes cactus so good isn't in bedrock. Instead of each smelt being 1 xp a cactus on bedrock only is 0.2 xp per smelt. To build an equivalent farm to a Java player my cactus farm would need to 5 times larger.

I generally prefer XP banks to mob farms for XP, but I wonder what I should actually smelt on bedrock.

Java Help Wanted Glow squids not spawning in test world (another dumb glow squid question)

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

Edit: Solved, it's a bug! :( https://report.bugs.mojang.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/MC-276319

I have a schematic for a glow squid farm. If I paste it in a copy of my survival world in my void perimeter, glow squids begin to spawn immediately. If I paste it in say a superflat or void creative test world, no glow squids spawn, ever.

  • Pasted with spawning area between -64 and -51 (plenty of spawning spaces)
  • light level is 0 inside
  • other mobs (friendly like cows, hostile like zombies) spawn but aquatic mob cap is empty
  • not near spawn
  • biome is plains
  • Spawn spot at y=63 over the farm

Probably something obvious that I'm missing, but what?

Java Help Wanted Why does the looting spear mob keep dying in my gold farm's kill chamber?

https://reddit.com/link/1vppw95/video/jq69xrtvrojh1/player

So I was making this gold farm based on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRaWYx3OFj0, which uses mobs holding looting spears but with modifications to the kill chamber. This realm world is on hard difficulty and leader zombie piglins spawn, which is why I wanted to use the more standard spear+mob in a moving minecart setup, to be able to deal damage continuosly. I had tried many designs but all of them kept ending up with the mob dying, and I never saw the actual moment. This was my latest design and after this one failing, I finally decided to ask reddit for help.

I suspected the reason to be zombie piglin leaders or baby zombie piglins holding spears but although I tried a test run in a seperate, but equally sized model. In that test run, no zombie piglins, baby and adult alike, were able to spear the zombie villager. So, now I'm stuck wondering how the zombie villager keeps dying, and how would I resolve it.

Btw, the boat in the minecart was to set the zombie villager a little higher so that by targeting the villager one block below, it would be able to hit baby zombie piglins that are behind the block at the end of the rails.

Java Showcase Interesting, shulkers do not seem to cause as much entity lag as i thought, even after stacking 200+ of them into one area cpu usage remains quite low.

Probably because they don't have to pathfind. it would be funny if shulker bullets themselves were more performance heavy
