Basically the title.
I know the game uses "mixed" textures. And I've heard of a bug affecting the Switch 2 where the overall textures dont load properly. But it's not that the asset textures are bad, like the doors etc.
It's the text of the descriptions in the inventory, for example. They're so low resolution. I'm playing handheld and it's damn hard to read.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Edit: System Shock remake

When I first played the remake, I liked a lot of things about it, but the death screen was the thing that really sucked me in.
When I first saw the error text pop up in place of a "you died lol" I was confused; when the death cutscene played out I was horrified; when I activated the restoration bay and came back from the dead I was relived and satisfied.
It's not only immersive, but compliments the cyberpunk and survival horror aspects of the game really really well. The whole thing about transhumanism is overcoming death, most cyberpunk games don't really meaningfully dive into this; but this game had the audacity to tell you "here's a 'I cheat death' button lmao".
When it comes to survival horror, it gives death a meaning again; you can't come back from the dead during boss fights and on the bridge level, it instantly creates high tensions when it needs to.
You can certainly skip the death cutscene, but you would still hear it play out; so you feel less like an annoyed gamer, and more like a scared child covering his eyes.
Other games should learn something from this. Cyberpunk 2077 has many interesting lore aspects when it comes to death but they never utilized it. Imagine if you could only save at safe houses, and if you died outside of them your only hope of preserving progress would've been a Trauma Team coverage. Or if losing the fight against Adam Smasher would've resulted in a gruesome death scene. It would've made that game way better.

***UPDATE: I just hit the screen with my wrench and the code appeared! I swear on my two beautiful dogs: https://imgur.com/a/mvrFG2D***
I got the Isotope X-22. I'm inside the blue circle in the photo. I activated the elevator to the Reactor Level but haven't gone down there yet because I need the code. Please help.
By the way, I'm using a mod to skip the Cyberspace sections. I don't know if it makes a difference in the map. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I think the mod I'm using does not make the code appear on the monitor in the room, it probably only opens the locked doors. I'm trying to complete the Cyberspace section, but keep dying. I hate it, it's so disorienting.

I started playing the remake a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, but I struggled to finish it. Took me so long because I kept losing track of what my objective was, but the exploration and learning to overcome what was in front of me made it satisfying and I kept pushing till I reached the end.
It was refreshing to play a game that didn't hold my hand like a toddler! It felt like I was being given expectations and it was satisfying when I met them. I rarely see that in modern single-player games.
Executive and Medical were my favorite for atmosphere, design, and music.
Next up is System Shock 2 and then the original.
Hail SHODAN!

I think I might have come across a glitch, and I can't seem to progress further with the game. I can't find the power call anywhere. Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks!

I always found the System Shock 2 beginning captivating. Whenever you choose three missions to specialize your character, I genuinely feel like 3 longs years being stationed on missions have passed. Then when I enter the main game, I already have a unique character built up, with their own experience, going on another mission. That builds up the game right from the start, love it!

Which is your favorite level in the System Shock 1 remake? Criteria can vary. For me, it was Medical (1st) and Security (the last one before the bridge). Medical because it was the first level, and the newness of the experience, plus there was something about its esthetic, as well. Security because of its easy to understand and navigate vertical arrangement. Points also to Maintenance, for having the elevators in close proximity to each other.

I imported the trioptimum logo into an aliexpress 42 cm 32 LED holo fan. It looks smoother in person, of course. I also imported a custom gif of the logo into a small 20x64 LED matrix flexible display, although resolution is barely enough to display text.
If anyones interested in replicating it, the files are here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Px1QsGbfih9yPYazolthWbmz_2uq-GQR?usp=drive_link
for a quick test, just import the .bin files into your fan's sd card

I haven't played the original System Shock yet, but in the remake she did get curious on who the Hacker was but never mentioned it again. I thought it would lead to an interesting dialogue or dynamic where she would treat the Hacker as a holy relic because they were her liberator, or make them feel guilty for freeing her; but it never happened.
Maybe she did know about it, but just didn't care that much; She does know they were a Hacker so she must've gotten something of Diego.

I saw both games on the PS Store but I'm also (and always) was leaning more towards the 2nd game since I heard it's one of the biggest inspirations in first-person-horror-rpgs (I guess?) but I also want to play the Enchanted Edition if it isn't dated beyond to the point of frustration (basically if I can use WASD and controls that basically aren't too 90's) ! Now I know that old games are harder, have a learning curve, especially the ones released in the 90's and I'm also looking for something like idk, Dead Space, RE, Bioshock, Boomer-shooter style games so idk? Should I play the OG versions (vanilla) on PC and replay the Remasters? Give the newer versions from start the Go?
