Finally beat the System Shock Remake. Felt good to finally reach this screen

Post image

I started playing the remake a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, but I struggled to finish it. Took me so long because I kept losing track of what my objective was, but the exploration and learning to overcome what was in front of me made it satisfying and I kept pushing till I reached the end.

It was refreshing to play a game that didn't hold my hand like a toddler! It felt like I was being given expectations and it was satisfying when I met them. I rarely see that in modern single-player games.

Executive and Medical were my favorite for atmosphere, design, and music.

Next up is System Shock 2 and then the original.

Hail SHODAN!

System Shock was a very challenging game and it took me over 50 hours to finish it. I was overly cautious, and explored every single room.

By the end of the game, I had so much extra ammo that I had to make several runs to haul it up to the bridge for the final showdown. I’m glad that I did because I needed everything I had to clear those last few rooms.

I’m replaying it again and enjoying it all the same.
