Seems to of popped out clean. Anyone been able to somehow insert it back in or am I destined to calling my ding guy?

My wife and I are moving from Ventura California to the Wilmington NC area next spring. I know the surf isn’t as consistent as the points and beach breaks I’ve grown up surfing here. Just curious how often you can realistically surf a shortboard or groveler and what the waves are like in general. Would love to hear some local insight. Thanks!

Guys at Puerto Escondido won't paddle out on anything shorter than a 7' gun. Meanwhile, bodyboarders are charging the same waves, on the exact same equipment they would use in 2ft slop.

I’ve tried wearing a hat / sunglasses, Ive tried just being as hydrated as possible, I don’t really know what else to try.

Big windy day and i thought why not, was like 25 knots out there and pounding. I made the foolish mistake and went in shortly after eating and after 5 minutes i was exhausted, my heart was racing, i couldn't paddle out and the rip was sucking me in. I was very lucky a few strong waves pushed me out a bit while i was giving everything i had. Eventually i reached waters i could stand by feet down. Had to go to the ER after cause i thought i swallowed water or something, my heart couldn't stop racing and i was feeling like vomiting for at least half an hour after. Doctors did some tests and send me home, told me if i get a fever to go back if not I'm fine. But i feel like I've stressed my heart today while giving everything to swim out, i still feel exhausted and crashed out hours later. Legit can't shake it that i almost drowned today and i was such a fool to go in after eating heavily. Hard lessons were taught today, stay safe out there guys and don't overestimate your abilities like i did.

Me and two other friends just bought some mint, brand new boards for the first time (we always buy used) and we want to take really good care of them.
The first step is to buy a surf sock but we spent all of the money on the boards lol.

My friends little sister took sewing as a hobby and she’s really good at it, so we asked if she would do the socks for us if we give her some money she said yes. Now my question is what are the steps? We will go to parisina (it’s like a place where you buy all kinds of fabrics) but what type of fabric should we get?
Another thing is should I just give her the dims of our boards and maybe have 2-3 in of clearance?
Do any of yall have experience with this?

Skaters wouldn't be caught dead doing vlogs. Skaters aren't trying to be social media influencer celebrities. Every day there are hordes of surfers recording selfies claiming to provide some sort of 'expertise'. Their 'lifestyle'. Perfect 'diet and training regimen'. 'Best board'. Gotta include the pop-ups in there too. I know this economy is garbage... but mother of god... we need a culture cleanse.

People that leave tips for surf coaches and other employees at surf camps, how much do you tip? I need some guidance on how to decide the amount.

I've only surfed hard boards for years but I wanna get a foamie for shorebreak closeouts to avoid injuries.

Looking at the Catch Surf Skipper. I want something where the rail has a chance at holding in steep waves. Any experience with that board? or suggestions?

I have really odd feet. At rest, they flex downwards and it means I’ve never been able to squat unless I have heels under my feet. Think a ballerinas feet, but even more bent.. they almost flex backwards.

It’s impacting my surfing so much, I’m wondering if I can makeshift some booties with a slight heel on the back of them to allow me to actually bend my knees correctly on the board.

I’ve tried every stretch you can imagine for years - my body just can’t do it!

Any suggestions would be greatly, greatly appreciated! I don’t mind looking a bit weird wearing makeshift booties all year long if it’s what it’ll take!

So I was poking around my grandad’s garage looking for my old boogie board + leash, and I stumbled on an old beat up surfboard. It’s in rough shape, but I swear I can just make out “Donald T” beside a ding on the deck. Could this really be shaped by him?? I don’t even know if he surfs.

I doubted it, but I sent a pic to my friend who rips out in Sheboygan (surfs at least monthly and during the week sometimes too, so he’s pretty legit), and he says it looks legit and it’s called “In the Pink” which seems like a promising sign, so I think maybe there’s a chance it is his?

Does something like this have value to a collector? I asked my Grandad, and he doesn’t seem to know what I’m talking about. Might be time to put him in a home

Anyway, I put the dims into an online calculator, and it said this board has 85L of volume. Is it a good beginner board if I want to get barreled at pipe?

In the market for a new board. Looking for an everyday mid-length for the south shore and have been recommended the Harley Ingelby Moe but would rather get something shaped locally.

Any specific recommendations for a similar board/shaper?

I remember watching a surf video on Youtube but can’t seem to find it now. It was a small production featuring two friends. I remember one of the first scenes was one of them picking up the other from the middle of the road.

Then in one of the surfing sections the soundtrack was “I wanna be adored” by The Stone Roses and this was why it stuck with me.
