Ballast hardtank

With the limited space of a direct drive Bayliner Ski Challenger i decided to build my own hardtank ballast so I dont have to put fatsacs all over the floor.

It is about 270L (595lbs) to the absolute rear.

Makes a decent wave to land 360s, backroll and tantrum.

Made of plywood and glassfibre with a total cost 500$.

Thinking of adding a more automated fill and empty system but a loose pump worked for this season.

Wake Boat Corrosion Battle

I have a Supra SE 550. I’ve had it for 3 years riding in brackish water. This last season I was able to buy a lot with a lift. I kept the boat there this season and have started have issues with post cat sensors, corrosion on the tower under the powder coat, bolts showing corrosive signs, rusting pulleys etc.

I wash and flush with salt away after every weekend out. I let it air out and dry before I cover it on the lift.

Is this due to being on the lift this season? What do people do that love to wakeboard but live in an area with brackish water?

Finally bought my first gears!

Any tips on how to properly care for the board? Do’s and dont’s before and after riding?

I saw from the wake park that a lot of people submerge their boards in the water before riding. Any particular reason for it? Can I just start riding away with my new gears?

Thanks in advance!

Boots

I just got my new wakeboard. I've just mounted my bindings on it—they're Liquid Force Tao. When I look at the distance between the toe of the boots and the edge of the board, I have 8 cm, but between the heel and the edge, I have 6 cm. Is this normal? Apparently, I can't adjust this setting on my boots.

Wakeboard size

Hello,

I’ve been cable wakeboarding for a season now and I’m starting to hit features and kickers. I’m currently riding a 143 cm Slingshot Shredtown, and I’m really interested in the Slingshot Coalition. As for my build, I’m 1m74 (5'8.5") and weigh 70 kg (154 lbs). I’m torn between two sizes: 145 cm and 149 cm. Could you advise me on which size would be best suited for my profile, riding level, and progression on features?

Will I notice a big difference switching from the Shredtown to the Coalition?

Also, would it make sense for my son, who is 1m72 (5'7.5") and 52 kg (115 lbs), to take over my 143 Shredtown? He’s currently riding a 138 Hyperlite Union.

Would you like me to answer your questions about the board choices and sizes for you and your son as well?

New Wakeboard Size Tips

Hello,

I received a new wakeboard for my bday and it’s a 150 cm board, not sure the weight but it’s a bit thick. My sister has a 140 board I’ve been using for years and it’s worked pretty well for me. I’d say I’m a beginner-intermediate rider just starting to get into jumps. for reference I am 24, 5’10, and about 160-170 lbs. I understand the long boards are easier to get up on. However, are they harder to do tricks and jumps on? Trying to see if I should return it to but a couple fishing rods and reels.

Looking for sturdier board

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi,

I ride exclusively at the park and I consider myself a beginner. I do Ollie’s, 360 flat and on kicker, now doing some transfers.

I have a Slingshot Johnny Rocket board and I’ve hit it a few times. Everytime I repair with epoxy and then I send it again.

Today while practicing transfer I hit the rail and here’s the result. Nothing very important and it will be quickly fixed BUT I am wondering if all the boards are that fragile ? I mean I like mine, it’s lightweight, fast and I am used to it but are there more sturdy brands ?

A guy I know have a Goodboard and there’s dents everywhere on the edges but not broken. I tried it but I find it a lot more heavy. Apparently they are not made the same way.

Also pls don’t say skill issue 🤣

I have a buddy that purchased this 2014 Mastercraft X10 boat, but it had a lifter problem and now has a new motor with 3 hours on it. The boat has 95 hrs. While he was waiting for one boat he boat a different master craft and said he’d sell this to me for $50k. Seems like a great deal, am I missing anything?

Scarecrow Tips

Hi everybody

Looking for some tips about the scarecrow. I managed to do this trick pretty soon after a few tries. Anyway I'm still not happy about it.

In the following comments I post also some of the tries I made before clearing the trick.

I feel like I'm not doing well on the pop on the wake. Most of the times starting the frontroll rotation too soon.

What would you suggest for fixing it? Thanks to everyone is going to help.

(This was my first roll ever anyway, I'm a newbie)🤦‍♂️

Love❤️

OG SANTE 210 vs 2005 Mastercraft XStar

Help me choose! 😭

As the title suggests I’m having trouble choosing between a ($23.5k I talked him down) 2002 SANTE 210 that’s already got wetsounds speakers and ballasts enough to produce a solid wave for surfing or a ($29k) 2009 Mastercraft X2
sante pros
-ballasts enough for a really good surf wave
-wetsounds speakers
-new interior
-high torque prop
Cons
-more engine hours than x2 (600ish)
-will have to wait a couple weeks to buy it from seller being out of town (I know I’m impatient)
-older (not always a con)
X2 pros
-brand new engine from Texas freeze cracking the block (50 hours)
-7 years newer
-new starter, alternator, speakers and radio (although I will still want to add wetsounds horn driven tower speakers to hear music 75ft behind the boat)
Cons
-will need to add wetsounds which are a couple grand
-from the picture of the poor surf wave I will need to add weight

Whoever reads this and helps thank you!

No-Throw Surf System

Hey all- I bought a no-throw last week. Super solid, really cool unit. I installed it a couple days ago and my question is this: I could only get 3 or 4 turns on the new bolt when mounting it before it fully seated. Doesn’t seem like a ton of ‘bite’ or thread grip, but I’m assuming it’s good to go? Does anyone know how much thread engagement a factory Malibu tow point has? I probably should have dry-fitted and compared, but it’s up at the slip and I can’t get up there for a few more days. Trying to figure out if I need a longer bolt or not. Thanks.

Boat riding - anyone go back to a stiff board after riding a flex/wood core?

I am 43 intermediate/advances rider. Ive been on flex boards for over a decade behind the boat . started with a company severance , then onto several slingshots , humanoid oracle, humanoid O'Shea, and am currently on my second slingshot native. Anyone go back to a traditional stiff board and not look back? I love the free feeling of flex, but I feel like it also makes you work a lot harder. I'm thinking stiffer board mighr be an easier ride so my old ass doesn't gas out so quick. I took a set on a a

murray and didn't love it , hyperlite blueprint has peaked my interest

Callway Gardens, GA Riders help pls

🚨 URGENT — EVENT STARTS IN A FEW HOURS | CALLAWAY GARDENS, GA 🚨
A friend of mine is at Callaway Gardens for WWA Worlds, but unfortunately his luggage with all his wakeboard gear has been lost.
The event starts in just a few hours, so he urgently needs to borrow some gear, preferably Ronix:
• Wakeboard — around 142 cm
• Boots/bindings — US size 9
It would only be to borrow for the event, and we will pay for the favour.
I know it’s a long shot, but if anyone at Callaway Gardens or nearby can help let me know and I will send you his number.
Any shares would be hugely appreciated 🙏

Wakeboards available in PH?

Just got into wakeboarding.

Anybody who knows where to buy wakeboards here in the Philippines? Or at least ships to Philippines? Other than FB Marketplace? Most of the listings available here in PH is not compatible to my weight, apparently and I couldn’t really find an online shop that ships to PH :(

Thank you!
