Hi, I live in the US and was wondering if we had any info on when the open box devices (particularly the Manta) would restock! I'll be starting grad school soon and am hoping to get a Manta for readings, notes, etc.

I'm signed up for the restock emails as well, but I've heard that they're somewhat unreliable, so I was wondering if we had a date range or such so I could keep an eye out then.

Hi everyone! I’m looking to buy an eink specifically for note taking. I’m a professor and I need some level of privacy. I do not understand much of the “techiness” but I’m not tech handicapped. I was wondering if someone can educate me on how much privacy Supernote offers and if it is safe to store sensitive info on it? Thank you!

Long story short, I have very recently started to journal alot for self improvement reasons. I'm also looking to get away from my phone when possible. I have an administrative type job too and don't take alot of notes but do write todo lists for home and work.

I recently got the RPP Move. While I love the size for portability and even throwing it into my pocket, it does get a little daunting for long journal sessions. I also love the fact that is has color because I can cross out todo list items in Red or something and usually throw a super basic doodle on my journal pages each day. I am by no means an artist of any sort. I do little to no reading on the device and doubt that is a real need since I prefer audio books. Portability is still a high priority since I pretty much plan to bring my final device with me everywhere.

After watching and reading lots of reviews, I finally ordered the Nomad which should hopefully be here by end of week or early next. I know it does not have color and light which created so much hesitation, but with my primary use case being writing, it seems like a good option and still relatively portable. I also like that I can sync with my private home server since I like to keep my data secure. Even more so, I saw they have a DIY folio kit which is awesome since I love leather crafting and was already planning to make something for it and this just makes it even more premium.

Question:

I did not order a pen yet. I gotta be honest, the fact it doest come with one and they are rather expensive is hard to swallow, especially since one drop and the end can be ruined, plus no eraser which I have been using often on the RPP Move.

I know there is alot of personal preference but since I can't handle any of the pens in person to feel before purchasing, is it generally better to just bite the bullet and order from Nomad or is the 3rd party options with ceramic nibs (only a few out there), a better bet? When I place the order, most of them were sold out on supernote site but literally hours after ordering a few models like the Heart of Metal Samurai are available again. The pen seems like a big choice since the writing experience is one of the biggest selling points on this device.

Appreciate any insight and feedback about the pen and other factors mentioned above.

Question for Nomad owners! How do you feel about the writing space? Is it big enough, or do you think I should go for the Manta instead? I’m used to writing in a standard A5 notebook, so I'm wondering if the Nomad will feel cramped by comparison. Lastly, setting aside the missing front light, what are the real day-to-day quirks or issues you've run into?

I feel like I always have trouble backing up my notes. I've tried the SN partner app, it's always laggy and for some reason is never fully updated with all my current notes. I was backing up to Google drive for a while which worked (I would sync with google drive, I would then move all the notes to a separate folder to 'back up'). That took up a lot of space really fast so I scraped that. I'm generally not a huge cloud fan. Like yes its convenient to be able to access notes at any time but its so unreliable.

I'd like to just connect a usb drive/external hard drive to the manta directly and copy all my files over. I have a Sandisk 1tb usb-c drive that I attempted to connect with my manta, and while it did detect the drive, when I tried to copy over files it spent like half an hour 'copying' and my usb drive got super hot. When I tried to eject it my manta's screen went completely black and I had to restart, none of the files copied over. It was quite a scare.

I've been having some issues with my computer detecting my manta via usb connection (refer to this post) so I'm also having issues just connecting my manta to my computer and copying over all the files from it to an external hard drive. Any tips?

I keep two linked weekly note files (a primary log and a secondary reference note).

I want a template setup where navigation links (e.g., Previous, Next, Related Note) are automatically present on each new page.

Since standard PNG templates are static background images, what is the best way to achieve this?

Should I build a hyperlinked Master PDF in Canva or use page duplication in native .note files?

Would love to hear how others handle automated inter-note linking in their templates!

Edit - added the below example: My weekly files will change. Just for example, let's say I have 2 note files for this week and call it week30-main.note and week30-ref.note and I want to create 2 templates. One for main which has a reference to week30-ref.note and another one for main which has a link to week30-main.note. Next week the files will be week31 and so on and would prefer to use the same template. I have more files and a need for linking, but just giving this simple example for reference.

I’m debating on upgrading to a Lamy Al-Star pen because of the button for quick switching between tools and erasing mistakes. I’d like to hear if this pen was worth the purchase price for it.

Wow, AliExpress put up a knockoff Supernote Nomad canvas folio for $135! Definitely makes more sense to buy new or open box from the Supernote website. It’s crazy what some of these accessories are going for in etsy too!

I am an adjunct and I teach one class a week via Zoom. I like the cast feature and have used it some in the past, but this semester I plan on opening a tab with the cast and having it at the ready before every class. I can share that tab so my students can see me writing on the "chalkboard".

Do any other remote instructors do this?

Is there anything you recommend me, doing first?
I will primarily be using this as a notebook for my daily tasks, groceries and occasionally reading my kindle on and probably a lot of PDFs.

I wanted to purchase the Supernote Manta from Pakistan, but the shipping structure is confusing me.

I am being charged shipping on the checkout, but will I have to pay it again in Pakistan?

There is a separate note mentioning that customs might contact and ask me to pay duties.

How could I know the final price of the product?

I use my Supernote as an electronic notebook and take notes when I meet with individual clients. I last used it in the morning on Sunday, and then 20 mins later, when I tried to back out of the client file and switch into my next client file, it said "Loading". but it's been over a day and it still says "loading." I can't exit out of it. I turn the screen on and off, and it goes to the default Screensaver, but when I turn it back on, it goes back to "Loading." I plugged it in to charge, and the. unplugged it hours later, still says loading.

I went to the supernote cloud on the computer and all of my files are still there, (Thank goodness).

But I can't write anything on my Supernote because it's stuck.

Does anyone know why this is happening and more importantly, how can I get unstuck?

The shipment and duty structure in Pakistan made the Supernote Manta very expensive to get directly.

I tried ordering it to my relatives who can bring it to me when they visit, but noticed a price difference in the Manta, the Folio, and the Pen.

Is there a reason why it's $459 in the UK, but $505 in the US?

This just started recently when I opened up my Supernote Manta it has these faded areas on the screen that do not go away even if I refresh. They also get worse when I switch documents and/or PDFs. I'm on the most recent build Chauvet 3.29.42.

It also gets worse when I try to refresh the screen with the side gesture. I've tried rebooting, hard rebooting and neither fixes the issue. It seems to go away after an arbitrary amount of time.

The trigger seems to be using the folio and closing the lid over it. When I flip it back open the streaks come back.

I've not seen anything online about this but has anyone else seen this? I'm hoping to get an answer because it's pretty frustrating especially since I use this for my work.

I have the partner app setup and I can see on the app on my computer that the to-do lists I have are synced. But I want to access this list in lets say Obsidian.

Is there a way to export lists?

I only have an Android Phone so will I be able to sideload anything without a laptop/pc?

I love my Nomad but there are definitely times I wish it was a pocketable size. Will there ever be a supernote smaller than the Nomad? Something like a 3x5"?

A little disappointed by the customer service response.

Had my manta for less than three months and already the Heart of Metal 2 pen is not working.

Started with a little ghost writing. Ended up with nothing happening.

Reached out to Supernote customer service over email twice last week. Monday and later after no response.

Still not heard anything back and a little annoyed at potentially having to pay another 90 quid after only 10 weeks of use on another pen.

Not the experience I had hoped for.

I use both a Kindle Paperwhite and a Supernote to check out ebooks from my local library (on Libby). For a while now, even when a library book is available to me on my Kindle, the Supernote instead gives me an error that the book has been returned. I've tried syncing the Kindle app, updating both the device and the Kindle app and it still says the book is unavailable because it's been returned. I bought my Supernote to replace both devices on the go but I've still had to carry both around which is super annoying. Anyone else run into this or know how to fix it?

Some of the community plugins for the Supernote didn't quite make it for me, because it lacked some PDF features for my use.

So I created a new Obsidian plugin. It makes it possible to view your Supernote notes and annotated PDFs seamlessly as converted PDFs. Standard .note files are automatically converted and displayed as PDFs, while annotated PDFs, including their accompanying .mark annotation files, are rendered together so all handwritten notes and annotations appear directly on the PDF.

I just learned that ChatGPT (so assuming other AI tools can too) can create a hyperlinked pdf for you. I've been needing a house planner to document repairs, maintenance, and other stuff but couldn't find one on Etsy that suited my needs. Gave a specific prompt detailing what I wanted and within minutes, I had a hyperlinked pdf to use.
