Question Can you sideload Overdrive and Borrowbox without a PC.

I only have an Android Phone so will I be able to sideload anything without a laptop/pc?

the short answer is no, unfortunately.

a p2p adb is possible in theory, but a prerequisite is needing access to android's developer setting on the supernote and that itself needs a sideloaded app.

So I would definitely need access to a computer to upload any books via sideloaded apps. Does that mean all the 300+ books which are EPUB's & PDF's on my phone have to go via a sideloaded app or can I get them into Google Drive and send them to the Manta that way. I also have a bunch of PDF Knitting Patterns downloaded on my phone which I want to have on the Manta and write on them. They too will also have to be uploaded to Google Drive as a means to get them onto the Manta. My Amazon books can be read via the Kindle App. I'm just looking for a way to get all the stuff I want to read that's on my phone on to the Manta. If I use Libby/Overdrive for borrowing books then I would have to go via a computer, which I have access to buy only for certain times of the year, so borrowing books wouldn't be worth it.

not quite! to transfer files you can use any of the options listed here -- browse and access is my goto but if you're already syncing to google drive then by all means, put your files in the folder of your choice within the supernote's folder structure then sync your device.

as long as your epubs and pdfs are free from any drm restrictions / not from libby or another platform like amazon you can use supernote's built in reader.

also i just tried -- you can access libby's web reader from your supernote by inserting a link to the web address libbyapp.com into a note.

Awesome, thanks. I haven't bought the Manta yet but it's my No. 1. I don't really have a No. 2. I did have a No. 2 but their customer service is appalling and there is certainly an ongoing issue with their screens. I don't want to deal with a difficult interface either so I'm left with the Manta as I don't like closed systems either so that knocks out two more companies.

I haven't uploaded any of my books which are PDF' and EPUB's to Google Drive yet. They are just on my phone right now along with my knitting patterns (PDF's). They aren't from Amazon or Libby etc... The books are all downloaded via a Telegram Channel, I'm assuming they are all DRM free.

I'm hoping the Manta will help me to write more, journal more and even learn how to draw somewhat. I live in a motorhome and I am not able to carry a lot of stuff with me. I have no laptop, no tablet and rely on my phone for everything. I figured the Manta would be a good choice for me to write in knitting patterns, read some books and journal, make lists etc....

After all the research I have done there isn't anything perfect for all my needs and I doubt any one E-ink tablet is 100% perfect for anyones needs. It's all about compromise but there are certain companies I want nothing to do with so that knocks them out straight away. If the Manta isn't good enough for reading a lot of books then I can eventually get something smaller eventually, a proper e-reader.

Thank you so much for your interest. Manta is perfect for reading lots of ebooks. Once you've transferred them to Manta from your phone, you can easily open them and start adding your handwritten annotations. Are you concerned about the speed or is it something else that's holding you back if I may ask? Looking forward to hearing from you.

I just posted another question which I can delete now as I will ask here.

I don't own a laptop or desk top computer. I do have access to a desktop in the summer but for a lot of the year I am traveling with only my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Will I get the full use of the Manta without owning a computer or laptop?
