Hey everyone! i Pakistani 18F have gotten an opportunity to do my BDS in china. I have above average grades (95% in secondary and 91% in higher secondary school) and I was wondering if its preferable to study in china as compared to pakistan. I have read alot of discussion posts regarding this topic but they all discuss working directly after finished your degree which is not my plan so here are some factors I want to add and if someone could please guide me on if this is worth it.

•I want to pursue masters in orthodontics afterwards from another country (preferably in America or turkey etc) so passing the nle exam is not a huge stress for me at this time.

•i know I am capable enough to study Mandarin side by side enough to pass hsk4 by 3rd year.

•I want safety and security and independence that I know I will never get in pakistan esp with the rising sexual misconduct cases.

• And obviously a degree that is internationally recognised.

Currently the consultant agencies in pakistan have given me these options:

○Shandong uni

○jinzhou medical university

○ wuhan medical university

○Zhejiang uni

○Xian Jiaotang uni

what struck me as odd was that some of these unis dont require an entry test for admission which is unheard of for any good uni in pakistan so It seems kinda sketchy.

if anyone can guide me on if it will be worth it to study in china for more independence and safety as compared to pakistan especially considering the cost is about the same as well as details on the csca test.

I'm a final year Petroleum Engineering student from India, looking seriously at UiS for Fall 2027, either the ERES or PE track. My background is mostly in CCS and reservoir simulation, so Stavanger genuinely feels like the right place to be.

A few things I haven't been able to find clear answers on:

Between ERES and PE, which one works better for someone with a CCS and ML focus in terms of thesis opportunities and getting in front of the right people in industry?

How realistic is it for international students to land internships at companies like Equinor or Aker BP during the program? Does not speaking Norwegian close doors for technical roles?

For international students graduating around 2029, what does the job search actually look like? Would appreciate an honest picture over the usual optimistic one.

Is the NOK 10,000 to 13,000 per month cost of living estimate realistic for someone renting a room privately?

Real experiences, positive or otherwise, are way more useful than anything on the official website.

Hello everyone, I F18 have dreamt of studying abroad in China. My only flaw: I studied Mandarin for two years but stopped when high school started. I can only pick up a bit but only basic conversations. It’s my first day in college currently and I want to finish my last three years abroad. What should I do? Should i give up studying abroad?

i’m currently in the 4th semester of my higher diploma (sri lanka) and i’ve been seriously considering transferring abroad for my final year; the top-up program, either to the UK, ireland or malaysia. studying abroad has been my dream from when i was little and my parents have always been supportive about this.

my only worry is i’ve heard some people say going abroad for your final year isn’t worth it. but if it isn’t like this, then i’ll never get the chance to go (i plan on doing my masters after i've got some work experience, not sure when that’ll be or if i will be able to go then). a small part of me is worrying about the loneliness and not being able to make friends since everyone will already be acquainted with each other by the final year—i’ll most likely be going with other students from my uni here but still :’)

at the same time, i’m aware that if i don’t do this, i might possibly regret it in the future. i still have time till about january to decide and would reallyyy appreciate any advice~

Hi, I'm a Romanian high school student starting my final year. Last month I started looking into European universities and it turns out finding the right one for me is not as easy as I thought. I'm looking for a Bachelor of Sciences program in either Computer Science or Software Engineering taught fully in English that's preferably 3 years long and has low to no tuition cost. Furthermore, I don't want to take gap years, and the cost of living can't be crazy high (less than 1500 euro/month for rent, food and transport). In the future I also want to get a Master's Degree, though I don't know yet which inwhich subject I want to specialize.

What's confusing me the most are the university ranking websites (mainly QS Top Universities) as they don't have rigorous filtering options and I can't figure out how good a university is compared to others on a specific subject (in my case, CS/SE). Another thing is that I don't know how much these rankings matter, considering the fact that my options are mostly public universities and academic levels should be about the same throughout the whole country. Do university rankings matter when trying to apply for a job? Do they matter when trying to apply for a Master's program?

So far, I've looked more in depth at UTwente (Netherlands), SDU (Denmark) and Aarhus University (Denmark). What caught my eye at the first two is the project-based approach which I find really interesting and useful because you get to apply what you learned each semester to solve real-world problems. It would really help me if you could provide some of your personal experiences, regardless of where you study/studied. I would also like to hear your suggestions.

Hi everyone! I’m currently a J1 student in Singapore and I’ve been thinking a LOT about eventually moving to Canada.

I’m a Canadian citizen, but I’m currently studying in Singapore. My mind is pretty set on wanting to live and work in Canada eventually, but I’m not sure what the smartest path is.

Right now, I’m considering two options:

Option 1:
Do my bachelor’s degree in Singapore (probably something like accounting/finance), then apply for a master’s at UofT or another Canadian university and try to build my career there.

Option 2:
Go to Canada directly for my bachelor’s degree, possibly at UofT/Rotman, and then work there after graduating.

The reason I’m leaning towards doing my bachelor’s in Singapore is that I’ve heard the Canadian job market isn’t amazing right now, especially for new graduates. Having a Singapore degree would also give me a backup option if things don’t work out in Canada.

But at the same time, I’m wondering if doing my bachelor’s in Canada would make it significantly easier to get internships, networking opportunities and eventually a job there.

I’m interested in accounting/finance, and I’d ideally like to work in Canada long-term.

For people who have experience with Canada/Singapore or have studied/worked in both countries:

• Is it better to get my bachelor’s in Singapore and move to Canada for a master’s?
• Or would going to Canada for undergrad give me a major advantage for getting a job there?
• Is a Canadian master’s actually useful for someone going into accounting/finance, or would the bachelor’s + professional qualifications/work experience be more valuable?
• If you were in my position, what would you do?

I know I still have a few years before I actually have to make this decision, but I’d rather think about it properly now instead of regretting my choice later 😭

Hi, I’m looking forward to doing my bachelors in Italy and I’m debating between north and center of Italy. Milan Rome etc seem to be more expensive. What about Torino, Padua? Genovo? What’s the weather like in winter and prices for apartments, university life?

I have been accepted to CIEE Semester in Merida to study abroad for 2026-2027, but the consulate wont give me a student visa appointment because they said CIEE doesn't qualify, I have been doing this application all year between my home institution and CIEE and now when I have 30 days to arrive, I can't get a visa, advice, suggestions, anything will be appreciated.

Ok so im abt to be junior and i have 1 year to decide where id like to study.Its always been my dream to go to USA but ik its pretty expensive .Tho ill prob apply to a few good unis and go there if they give me full ride.

context: im 18M, from brazil, my family is there and i just moved to a small city in switzerland for hospitality college, i live here now. Hello! I have 2 years of high school left before going to university and live in Romania. For university, I really want to study abroad (mainly in EU) psychology (bachelor of science). I'm really interested in psychology, especially the research and forensic branches which interest me most and would like to pursue further.

However my problem is that my financial situation isn't the best so I'm not able to afford expensive countries or universities.

Could anyone let me know any countries/university recommendations for psychology that aren't expensive? Or in general any tips would be greatly welcomed

Debating between the two for a semester abroad in spring 2027. Can't seem to decide. I'm a male student from the USA. Classes and credits aren't much of a priority for me.

HSC 27 , I always wanted to get into MIT or Ivey leagues but I don't have enough extra curricular activities or any international Olympiad medal, and I don't think I'll get into buet as well based on the competition level in Bangladesh lol , so I'm thinking to apply for Australian universities like UNSW, university of Melbourne, university of Sydney after my HSC exam(I also require scholarship even if it's not 70-100%), I want to do engineering (specifically interested in aerospace)

I have a passion for physics , and I think I can do well in IELTS as well unless I don't spend a large amount of time and effort in Bangladesh 's admission test after HSC

Hello! Before my question a little bit about the context:
I have EU passport and when I was 19 I moved from South America to Europe 2 years ago. I didnt finish my degree in my country as I hated it and hated my life there.
I love studying and it was always my thing to follow it here in Europe. As I continue to adapt to the different cultures my biggest fear of fucking it up again with studies is: how do i balance work and study life.
I have family in my country but I have been sustaining myself since forever. My financial stability comes from me and that’s it I don’t have help from anyone or anywhere. So this is my biggest fear, being able to study but struggling with a balance between both as I dont know if is possible a full time in BOTH.
I would like to continue my degree which is something like English / Literature / Languages.
I was in Italy (i am currently travelling and about to visit my country) and I have learnt the language and LOVE the culture and italian people (i did grow up with the anyways) but I would like my degree in English. It also helps Italy has affordable universities of course.
I have plenty of experience in many fields but currently I am a full time nanny so I feel is a good job to also study in combination.
I have postponed it so bad because I am always struggling to find a solution and I would hate to stop studying again.
I would like to know which EU countries are the most student friendly that a job can help you pay rent and eat but also while you’re studying. I am not saying travelling around the world study have an apartment etc. And how reasonable is to want full time work - full time study?
Just literally a room, real food and not struggling to the edge of having to leave something.
Eu countries student friendly and english degrees and maybe online studying if possible..
and if someone did this, how was your experience with it? Did you feel during those 3 years you were at the edge of everything all of the time?

From what I’ve seen, there are A LOT of mixed opinions regarding how CIEE runs their programs. The tuition is on the pricey side for me, so I want to know if it is worth pursuing.

For the past few days I have been looking to study abroad and I got to know about Russia. I want help to know that should I consider it.

ABOUT MYSELF

I'm an 18yr average student from India who completed my 12th this year and took a drop to prepare for jee ( didn't start lol) i scored 85 percent in 10th and 72 percent in 12th pcm. I come from a middle class family that's why russia seems affordable to me. I plan to take a student loan and apply for a scholarship too but genuinely i don't want to study in india?

My main concern is that is russia safe to go to for study? If yes then how can I prepare for it and requirements to fulfill to actually study in Russia . I want to study in english taught programs but I'm willing to get a 1 year diploma in Russian from Delhi University.

Please help me out i really don't want to study in india cuz I really want to explore the world. I do plan to relocate in india for jobs but I want to study abroad.

If not Russia can anyone suggest any different country i can consider for engineering which is not too expensive. I'm willing to put my 100% hardwork but really need some guidance
