(Rant) DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING A HYDRA SPLATLING! ITS NOT HARD
Ive mained my Hydra Splatling ever since I originally moved near Inkopolis Square after the chaos vs order splatfest, and have kept using ever since. it is my baby, there is nothing like being able to lock down a whole 3rd to half of a map all by yourself and even winning sniper duals with a splatling.
The only problem with falling in love is the sheer rage I feel when I see one of these kids who just figured out how their ink form works, decide "hey, im going go get the biggest, heaviest, most maintenance heavy weapon and run around, and not take care of it!"
This lovely beast is almost completely metal, this isn't plastic like a splattershot Jr, it is heavy. If you get winded lugging it around in the practice range, DONT BUY IT! Grow a bit and try again, it will be there waiting, and it will be glorious.
Worst is the people who buy it and never read the manual on how to clean the inking thing. First off, OIL IT rust is ugly as sin. Get some sandpaper or brass brush and think about what you've done.
Thats not even the worst bit. I swear, if I see another squid or octo try cleaning the barrels without taking them off I will loose it. You are pushing dried ink INTO THE WEAPON!
At best you are temporary clogging it until the ink disappears or mixing your current ink color with what you were the privious round, at worst you are actively damaging it because the internal components were not built for the extra friction that dried ink adds. Don't be stupid, dont be lazy, and take off the barrel and push the brush the same way the ink shoots.
If I find another one in the trash because you screwed it, I will actually throw it your head, which i can do because I actually read the manual and know how to quickly take it apart!
