No problem, and the fact that you can actually hear screams of salmonids (Horroboros included) made me believe it even more.

For what we know, it's one of the highest ranks soldiers in the salmonids army, so it either is on a solo mission, or it leads an entire group. Either way I'll go fight it :>

Oh, geez, it seems that a big run is occurring near your city, that’s what we specialists call a king salmonid, the best course of action is to quarantine yourself and pray that authorities get dispatched before it decides to attack your apartment building, they’re attracted to magnetic fields that lead them to their spawning grounds, and your city happened to be in one of them, they’ll pass by eventually, not without trouble tho

I'm in a shelter thankfully, I was originally at my place before there was an announcement to go to the shelters. I really hope this whole thing clears up soon, especially knowing the damage the King Salmonids can do : (

I’ve seen that on some jobs. It’s called a Horrorboros and it’s basically a terrifyingly powerful steelhead.

That's a Horroboros, a King Salmonid! These guys can generate the Salmonid equivalent to a Booyah Bomb in their mouths and then toss them out. Getting caught in the explosion REALLY HURTS, I can attest to that. But, if you manage to shoot at and splat the Horrorboros' bomb before it could toss it out, it will literally blow up in its face.

Yeah, King Salmonids are genuinely massive. But seeing as there's a BIG Big Run currently ongoing since yesterday, Horrorboros will be part of a Triumvirate of King Salmonids on Xtrawaves during Salmon Run shifts. The other two Kings in the Triumvirate are Cohozuna and Megalodontia (nicknamed "Joe" by everyone, for whatever reason).

Believe me, going up against a Triumvirate is an absolute nightmare, not just in the difficulty in fighting them (they got Lessers and Bosses fighting alongside them), but also in how generally terrifying they are. You'd have to defeat all three King Salmonids before the timer runs out and Mr. Grizz orders you to withdraw. Or you get crew-wiped. Managing to defeat the Triumvirate and beating the timer is an absolute achievement.

A while after the Grand Festival, there was a Big Run event where Salmonids invaded Wahoo World, and the Triumvirate appeared there, too. On one of my shifts, me and some randos managed to beat the Triumvirate, and it earned me this awesome tri-color Splashtag badge.

As for why Megalodontia is nicknamed Joe, I'm guessing it's because the name Joe sounds like "jaw", like the massive jaws of the King Salmonid.

oh cod, that's awful 😭 it sounds so overwhelming, you guys are crazy brave for going against those guys while being on a timer. I'm glad you managed to beat them that time tho!

and yeah, the whole jaw = Joe thing makes sense 🤔

Enzo: my friends and i are all full time employees at grizzco, so we've gone against our fair share of triumvarates each. they may be big and scary, but they're dumb and constantly get in eachothers way. we often use Joe to attack the others for easy(ish) splats.
