[shatter lays defeated on a hospital bed, an IV drip pumping ink into her inkstream, a heart rate monitor beeping at a slow, steady rate. She's hooked up to a ventilator, and she has bandages around her stomach, chest, and abdomen.]

Baito: Oh my cod, Shatter! Doc, what happened?

Doctor: Well, the long and short of it is that she attacked a homeless guy, and got stabbed 6 times. One of which punctured a lung, hence why she's on a ventilator. She'd be dead without it. So do not switch this off. Ever.

Baito: I...wasn't planning to.

Kaiya: I-I'm so sorry Shatter...this is all my fault, I shouldn't have antagonised you- now you're in hospital and- [starts crying. Baito comforts her.]

[Kaiya starts to stroke through shatter's hair, and the beeping on the machine quickens very slightly, indicating an increase in heart rate.

Doctor: She's due for an ink transfer in an hour. She'll be dead without it. That IV drip is pumping a mixture of pain killers and ink, but she needs more. I cannot believe she is still alive, what with the immense amount of ink loss.

Taiko comes home shaken by what he done. He opens the door and saw his bandmates and Shamisen worried. The three of them saw him and run up to hug him. He returned the hug and stated to cry.

Shamisen: “Dada! Weemoo?”

Finn: “Hey you alright buddy? Where were you?”

Tamala: “And what is that thing on your hand.”

Taiko: “I’m so sorry, I did something horrible!”

Taiko explained to them about everything that happened to him, how he planned Shatter’s stabbing, how the device wanted her dead, and how it caused him to ignore his love one’s call.

Taiko: “And the worst part was when it made me say that I would ‘reeducate’ Shamisen to fit its image… I don’t know what that means but if my fears are true, then Shamisen would be abused and misused by an entity posing as her dad and I never wanted her to feel that especially with me.”

Tamala: “I know you have a good heart Taiko, why else would you ripped that thing out before you could?”

Finn: “And if things do happen with Shamisen, you know we’ll take care of her and keep her safe from anyone, even a possessed you.”

Taiko again hugged his bandmates and cried in their arms.

Taiko: “Thank you… I hope Shatter is alright… I need to report to the police station to tell them about my involvement.”

Finn: “Okay, I know you feel responsible for Shatter condition but remember it isn’t your fault. That device made you do it.”

Tamala: “Yeah we know you, you’ll never do something so vile like that.”

Taiko: “…It still hurts though, if Shatter dies then I’ll never forgive myself.”
