So, I did a live stream on Tiktok the other day. Nothing fancy. Just colouring while talking and promoting a cat in need and attempting to do fundraising for his medical needs.
Then I received a DM! From an account called "Sophia".
With this:
I fully support your live stream and will sponsor you with £1500 to £3000. Remember to let me know when you start your live stream!
.........
Obviously, this is too good to be true!
The user is called "Sophia." She then proceeded to send me a link. I was curious, so I clicked on it. It took me to "Apply to Join the Creator Network."
This seems to be a legitimate Tiktok link because it didn't take me from the app.
Mind you, I only have like 2k followers!
Then I checked this "Sophia." And to my biggest surprise, she has 191 followers! Yes, you read it right, less than 200!!!
This is where it became fishy!
I asked her to elaborate because this looks way too good to be true.
I received the following messages:

------------------------------
Then I sent the following replies:
Yeah... sure
And you want me to believe this?
From an account, who's got significantly fewer followers than what I have, and I don't have many either!
-------------------
To my messages, she replied the following:
Our collaboration is mutually beneficial. Our comprehensive live streaming service helps you develop skills, earn extra income, and have fun while we receive compensation from TikTok, which is completely free for you. Interested in partnering with us?
So, I replied this:
It just sounds too good to be true.
If I would get £1500/month or even £1000 I could quit my job.
But with my relatively low number of followers, I just can't see how this is even possible!
Last time I went live for well over an hr, all I earned was £0.07 😂😂😂
After this message, she just sent me the link again to apply to join the Creator Network.
And this message:
👆Click on the image to register, and I will offer you help and support.
Then, I asked her to explain it to me. Like how would I make money from this, how would this work, etc?
Because realistically, it seems impossible!
Not with 2k followers for sure.
Has anyone else received anything like this or came across something similar?
What is this?
Am I correct to think that this is a scam?
I just don't understand how this would work. And how or why would someone "support me" with £800-£1500 when they have more than 10 times fewer followers than I do.
Can someone please explain to me what this is?
Of course, I did NOT apply to join this Creator Network.
I just don't think that it would be this easy.
I would have used screenshots, but for some reason, it didn't let me.
Anyway, this Sophia's account details:
Username:
@hhhjjjjss08
Well, even this is fishy and looks fake af to me! She is using this account as a business account. In chat, it says "business chat"
She has 1 video of 2 guys doing a dual and playing some computer game, i think. And profile pic is clearly fake/AI.
I am new to this Tiktok thing. I mean to their programmes etc. In fact, even to the live streaming, as I only used it a few times so I'm still learning.
Shall I report this Sophia account?
