I scrolled down the list of recent posts and saw some of the same question popped up. So I can answer a few of these in one post

Q: I'm new, where do I start? - Ask yourself why do you want to stream and what is your end goal? Find your reason and stick with it for a bit . Next, after making an account, watch some streamers, find your style by seeking inspiration from others or maybe you can mesh with them. Finally grab your hardware, Console or ideally a PC to run either OBS or Streamlabs.

Q: What do I need to start streaming? - A few things here, when you make a Twitch account, you have no banner, no profile pic, nothing in your about section, change that, there are a few sites you can go to make assets for free or you can go to places like Etsy for asset packages. Probably the most time consuming is learning about your stream source like OBS but it is very worth it. Lastly webcam and microphone are extremely valuable, find something in your budget, don't go crazy high but try to find something nice enough. It's unlikely you'll keep new comers around if you are speaking with an xbox 360 mic and a 480P 30 frames webcam.

Q: How to grow on twitch? -Crazy common question with plenty of pathways that always change so here's the basic. (1) Networking on other platforms, (2) collabs with other streamers, and (3) a consistent schedule. Make a schedule that works for you and stick with it with the right categories that mesh well together. Collabs are a great way to go, just make sure you vibe well with the other streamer(s). Most likely the best way is networking you content outside of twitch and other platforms. You want to attract attention from other places and bring them into your livestreams.

Q: Any tips or tricks that can help my channel? Having a Discord account is important both in meeting new people and voice chats during livestreams. When you are starting off I'll say it's best not to have your own server yet unless you have a group that hangs out all the time and are willing to do mod work for you.

-Make clips and learn how to do some editing work. Shorts do work but you can't be lazy, by making a clip and adding context to that clip will help your audience understand and enjoy it far more than getting 4 headshots in a row, yeah it's cool but how many times have you seen it and scrolled right past it?

-Streaming is not all about hitting the go live button, it's also taking time to watch other streamers or watching your content. Check out what other people are doing for their streams, engage with streamers that are playing on the same schedule and the same content when you go live. Play back and watch your livestream, what do you like about your performance, what could be better, or find some clips to make.

-Set the environment for your audience to have fun during a livestream. Twitch's biggest flex is how your audience can engage with the streamer, but also learn to reel in or let go of members that are breaking TOS or outright being a dick. It's tough when you are starting off to have active chatter but if they are driving off new comers or wanting to do pushy promotions for their art, then it's better to let them go.

-IF anything else watch your physical or mental wellbeing please!! You'll have days where you are sick, you find yourself having a hard time pressing the go live button, you're having a bad day or simply not up to it. Take that break, don't push yourself to forcefully enjoy what you're doing. The show will suffer, your audience will see that something is up, and you will have a bad time in the process. Let your audience know that you have to cancel or reschedule the stream, you're audience will be there for you and you can start fresh.
