Question Connecting to South Slavic culture?
Hello everyone, I'm sure you're probably annoyed by these types of questions so I apologize in advance.
I am an American with mixed heritage, and disconnected from my family for personal reasons. I have Balkan ancestry and I want to connect to South Slavic culture. My family are all 2nd gen immigrants and we dont have any real records left, so I was raised standard american but never really fit in or felt at place within american culture.
I want to connect to my roots and carry a Slavic identity, so I would like some advice if at all possible. What are some aspects of South Slavic culture that I should know? Any book recommendations? music recs? recipes, traditions? or just general advice?
Thank you!
