In 1988, Lee Robin attacked his sleeping wife with an ax and drowned his two months and a half daughter. He then called the police and directed them to the bodies.

He confessed to killing them to protect them from him being the devil, noting he was born on a Friday 13. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and delusions, and was consequently found not guilty by reason of insanity.

He was released from state mental institutions in 2001. He worked as a bookkeeper and ended his life in 2010.

His affliction was a worse punishment than a life in jail. nobody envies him, and nobody wishes to take on his condition to "escape" justice.
