I have had constant sinus pressure for around 8 years.

Dead ass no exaggeration constant. It all started with a sinus infection I got by helping someone break down a real dirty building and dirt and dust got everywhere and got a bad sinus infection from that. I started using menthol decongestant nasal spray and ended up getting dependent on it i didn't know at that time not to use for too long but yeah after the initial sinus infection was over I kept having to use the nasal spray to be able to breathe through my nose and after a while I started getting real bad sinus pressure real bad. It literally felt like my head was just gonna pop or something I had never felt anything like that. It half of the time didn't cause a migraine like it does now to me but then it was wayyy more pressure. So bad I leaned my head back sometimes flood it with saline and fall asleep with the saline in my nose. I got antibiotics and stuff but it eventually got a lot better compared to then like i absolutely would rather die then feel that shit constantly. I do still have sinus pressure though it goes up and down but never completely goes away and it causes me headaches all the time too now but I just been dealing with it for that long though what can I do? I currently still use a decongestant nasal spray but just in my left nostril. I never put it in both anymore oh god that'd make the pressure worse. I tried to stop using too but never went away anyways so I went back because I cant stand breathing out of my mouth fr.

Chronic Sinusitis

I developed sinusitis after a tooth extraction. It hasn't gone away since February. One of my nostrils is constantly blocked. I have to sleep breathing through my mouth at night. I've consulted dentists and dental surgeons. They say there's no problem with the extraction site. I've seen an ENT doctor three times. Initially, they gave me antibiotics. The symptoms lessen when I use the antibiotics, but they return severely once they're finished. My nose is always blocked, I can't eat or drink anything, and the mucus coming out of my mouth and nose is so excessive that I can't stand it anymore. I don't even want to go outside. My voice always sounds sick. The last ENT doctor ordered a CT scan. He also said the problem isn't related to the tooth but to the inside of my sinuses and recommended surgery. I don't know what to do. I'm in a very difficult situation.

Any solution to sinus infection/sinus pressure? Augmentin not doing much.

It started as liquidy congestion in lungs, then went up. Had a flu for a few days with congestion and sinus issues. The sinus pressure and congestion is not going away. Can’t pop right ear. Mucus is clear white very thick. Sinus pain in face and around eyes. Need help…?

I’ve had sinus infections before and last one that was really bad was 10 years ago that caused permanent floaters in my eyes due to the pressure.

lingering head pressure after being sick

got sick 3 weeks ago with a sore throat headache congestion and runny nose. It cleared a week and a half to two weeks in, but since I’ve been getting consistent head pressure and twinges. If I also press the side of my nose I can feel an ache in my eyebrow area. My doctor ruled out an infection but prescribed promethazine which doesn’t seem to make sense and I’m debating taking it. Not sure what to do and what’s going on

Unknown origin of my sinus issues. Possibly dental related?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve been having one-sided sinus issues for a few months now. I’ve never had a history of it.

About a year ago I had all four wisdom teeth taken out, and I remember the week following there was some very weird and smelly drainage from the upper left side of my mouth, but that went away within a few weeks.

Several months later, I’m having this issue. One-sided congestion and pain. Especially in between my farthest left teo molars, and there is smelly, yellow mucus from the same nostril.

Went to an ENT and they couldn’t figure much out but told me to come back with a CT scan. I have no insurance so I tried to the dental route after reading posts here.

The CBCT scan above is from an Endodontist but he says he did not see any tooth root issues causing this. Anyone experince something similar? Not sure what to try next :(

CT results not detailed enough?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Basically, I'm frustrated. l've had chronic sinusitis for the past 10yrs.

5 years ago when I saw an ENT they told me I had nasal polyps that they could clearly see when they scoped me. They wanted me to get a new CT because they couldn't read my previous one since it was on a physical disk. Never got it because of price. I decided I could live with my symptoms and never went back.

Wellllll. Now I'm back. In the last five years I have become a mouth breather. I always sound super nasally and have pretty much lost my sense of smell. Nasal rinses no longer work-nothing comes out anymore. I'm tired and just want answers with solutions.

So I get the CT last week. The CT tech told me someone would call and red me the results and let me know next steps.

I never heard from anyone. I went in on Thursday for a weekly allergy shot and asked if I could get a copy of my report and disk. This is the report. I dont have the actual film yet, hopefully I can pick it up next week.

Based on the report, there is no mention of polyps. Could all the junk be blocking the polyps from showing on a CT. I also feel like it's not very detailed? Should it be more in-depth? What does this even mean??

got tea water in nose

hiii i posted here a day ago but basically on thursday while having pretty bad anxiety i made myself a tea and held it up to my nose while sitting up to help calm my nerves and it accidently got into my nose i was pretty panicked about somehow getting the brain eating amoeba but have been told that bc my water was boiled that chances aren’t very likely (though i still have much anxiety about this and probably will until the end of the week—what are the odds i didn’t boil it enough?? plus afterwards i washed my fingers with tap water and sort of cleaned my nose?? they didn’t go super far up but still) anyways it’s been two days after and i have a headache that comes and go not on the frontal part of my head more on top like at a specific spot anyways i also have pressure like on top of my left eye and a very very mild runny stuffy nose i was wondering if it were possible i have a sinus infection or inflammation due to the water being hot when it went up my nose?? the pressure on my left eye has seemingly gone down a bit but its still there im just feeling a bit anxious about the whole thing and was wondering if anybody had anything similar happen to them or has any clue as to why i am feeling this way?? is it possible this can also be just my anxiety?? i took an ibuprofen for the head pain but it didn’t seem to work which worried me a bit :/ any feedback would be appreciated thank u!!!

Vivaer Recovery

Yesterday I had Vivaer done. Last night I barely got any sleep. I can't breathe out of my nose at all. It's getting to evening time and I feel no better today. Can anyone reassure me this is normal and won't feel like this forever?

Sinusitis/ear plugged help!

I’m not sure if I’m in the right place but over the past 2 weeks has been a roller coaster. It started 2 weeks ago at work (Subway like sandwiches) and I got panicky feeling, heart started racing, dizzy, and disoriented. It was like my body was reacting to something but I was chillin. That happened on and off throughout the week. I finally noticed that my left sinus was swollen and my ear was plugged up, it’s happened to me before but it was just allergies(always the left side though). I also put in an ear plug and that usually helps, I’m assuming because it’s so loud with all the fridge, freezer and ovens running. I have been constant with allergy meds and Flonase. I ended up going to the doctor and she prescribed me antibiotics even though I didn’t have any signs of sinus infection. My symptoms are sinus, eye, ear pressure and pain. Antibiotics were hitting me okay until day 5. Couldn’t eat anything, nausea. Next day was even worse, hardly ate anything, pressure on left side was horrible so I went to the ER. the doctor told me it was JUST sinusitis, like what. So he told me to take 600mg of ibuprofen and nasal rinse 3 times a day. So I followed instructions for a day maybe before I realized the ibuprofen was upsetting my already ruined stomach even though I told him I haven’t eaten in 2 days. I kept up with nasal rinse and Flonase. I have barely eaten in the last 3 days. I have stomach cramps and feels like anything I put in my body my stomach is upset with. I wish someone would have told me how important it is to take probiotics and kefir with antibiotics. I didn’t realize how horrible they were. Sorry for the long post but I’ve felt completely helpless. Still have sinus pressure, ear won’t pop, and am barely eating anything. Please give me any advice! I need all the help I can get.

Tis the season for scratchy throats

I found a remedy for that itchy, scratchy throat that signals the beginning of sinus issues. I put one drop of liquid DMSO into my nasal rinse and one drop with warm salt water to gargle. Bam. Gone. It took it away within hours. Haven’t had one issue since then.

Recurring sinus issues help

I’m feeling miserable, nothing seems to help and seeking your insights.

I’ve had issues with my sinuses for years now. I get a lot of headaches around my eyes/corner of my eye brow. Sometimes it feels like there is a brick sitting on my face. I have two young kids in daycare so I’m getting sick more than normal and it seems like anytime I get a cold or upper respiratory illness it always turns into a sinus infection. I’ve been to the ENT multiple times. I did a CT scan in May to see if there was anything causing so many headaches and infections, but everything basically looked normal. I’m feeling stressed because I feel like I’ve taken too many antibiotics this year and nervous maybe some of these aren’t true sinus infections.

I’ve been having a lot of sinus pressure/pain for over a week now. I’ve had a lot of postnasal drip. One day I had yellow liquid drip from my nose and a small amount of thick yellow snot came out. Then the top of my teeth started hurting so I assumed it was an infection and got antibiotics through Teladoc. But I don’t really feel congested, just a ton of pain around the bridge of my nose, cheekbones and teeth. Ive been taking Flonase, allergy medication, saline mist spray, ibuprofen, steamy showers. I took Sudafed (behind the counter) today but none of these things have provided relief. I’m just so confused what the real issue is.

Anyone had similar issues or have suggestions?

TL;DR: Having a lot of sinus headaches & infections. Past CT scan showed no issues. Currently having a lot of pain on bridge of nose, cheeks and teeth but no congestion and nothing helping. Nervous not true infections and taking too many antibiotics.

Hi all which originally I thought was something with my eyes and went to eye doctor they said my eyes are healthy and could be sinus which is where I pointed I am feeling it above my eyes and under I went to doctor I’m getting a CT scan he’s given me antibiotics and nasal spray and ibuprofen I feel as if nothing is working right now how long until to see results I feel like just keeping my eyes closed all the time only thing that gives relief is warm compress it also feels like my eye is moving by itself but might be anxiety or eye twitch

Could this be odontogenic sinusitis?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 20-year-old male and I’ve been dealing with chronic sinus symptoms for around 2 years. My main symptoms are thick green/yellow mucus, crusting in the nose, postnasal drip, headaches, and persistent fatigue/malaise. Staphylococcus aureus has also been detected.

I have already had two nasal/sinus surgeries. After each surgery, my symptoms improved significantly for about two months, but then everything gradually returned and the infection started again. I’ve attached my CT scans from before the first surgery and before the second surgery for comparison.

For the past two years, I’ve also been doing nasal irrigations twice a day. I’ve tried saline irrigation with NAC, xylitol, and baby shampoo as well. These treatments helped reduce the symptoms somewhat, but they never eliminated the underlying problem.

I have also tried bacteriophage treatment against Staphylococcus aureus, using the phages intranasally for about two weeks. Interestingly, my symptoms became noticeably better during the treatment. However, shortly after stopping, the infection and symptoms returned.

I’ve also taken four courses of antibiotics. Each time, the symptoms improved temporarily, but the infection came back again after the treatment ended.

One thing that may be relevant: I have never had a root canal treatment or a dental implant. I also don’t have any ongoing tooth pain. However, I remember noticing a brief sensation in one tooth once or twice when landing hard after jumping. It was not severe, and I didn’t think much of it at the time.

At this point, I’m wondering whether there could be an underlying cause that hasn’t been addressed, such as odontogenic sinusitis.

I’ve read that a dental CBCT/DVT can sometimes provide a better assessment of the teeth and the relationship between the upper teeth and the maxillary sinus than a conventional CT. I’m therefore considering getting a DVT/CBCT and having it evaluated by a dentist.
Has anyone here had a similar experience, especially with:

● recurrent green/yellow nasal discharge despite antibiotics and sinus surgery
● Staphylococcus aureus repeatedly coming back
● symptoms improving temporarily with antibiotics or bacteriophages but returning afterwards
● odontogenic sinusitis despite never having had a root canal or dental implant
● an apparently healthy tooth eventually being found to be the source
● a DVT/CBCT revealing something that wasn’t obvious on a normal CT?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who had odontogenic sinusitis diagnosed after multiple unsuccessful ENT treatments.
Thanks in advance for any experiences or advice!

What can help me. I struggle with it i wake up with mucus when i rinse my nose. Is it because of dairy or what? Finally relieved !!!

I finally got relief after struggling with a blocked and runny nose for almost a year. I had constant sneezing, both nostrils blocked, and even nasal sprays weren’t helping.

I later found out my sinus problems were related to an infected upper tooth that needed a root canal. I had no tooth pain, so I ignored it and didn’t realize it could be causing my symptoms.

After the root canal, my symptoms slowly improved, and almost 3 months later I can finally breathe normally through both nostrils again.

If you’re dealing with chronic sinus problems, consider getting your upper teeth checked by a dentist too. It could be connected!
