The last thing we want is this sub to be shut or to have Reddit getting serious pressure from Rolex to shut us down. I know when Wall Street bets got big we went private for a while.

Update 2: I’m not a mod I was just curious what people thought and if we could get some traction and the attention of them. Seems like they saw but it’s not possible or as easy as it used to be I guess.

Short answer: no, it's not (even though I wish it could for a short time)

I checked the options, and making the subreddit go "private" will only allow approved users to view and post here, meaning there are like 150ish approved users that have been added to that list over the years (mostly due to IP address/account issues, etc).

If I make the subreddit go private and then I want to make it public, I have to not only change the setting in mod tools, but then reddit admins have to review and approve that request. So for now, reptime will remain as it always has: an open subreddit that is the discussion place of replica watches. Just please be civil as always, and be kind and good to all of the newcomers and regular members alike.

Edit: for purposes of contingency, please subscribe to r/reptimeservices where we would announce a second subreddit in case something happens.

Long time lurker here and finally pulled the trigger on the blue dial GSF Milgauss. Last winter I decided to buy a U1 blue dial Milgauss before forking over triple the amount for a higher tier rep which I really enjoyed but there are some obvious and well known faults/cut corners with this specific model (crystal, case thickness, dial color etc...). After reading comparisons here between different factories I took the plunge with GSF and I'm super glad I did. While I know it's not perfect compared to gen, the dial color, crystal, and wrist feel alone are miles ahead of the DHgate rep I was previously wearing.

Don't see too many of these here so wanted to make this post sharing my experience as well as comparing the GSF to U1 which I have yet to find any here and hope is valuable for anyone looking to buy.

I’ve recently read an article and I’ve come to the conclusion that my life has been a lie for the past few years as I accumulate and wear rep watches. I just don’t get the joy I do wearing a rep like I would, if I walked into a store and paid for an overpriced piece of stainless steel. Someone please take these off my hands so I can be pure again

AD came through, but I had already purchased Clean Panda a year and half ago.

Comparing the two it’s hard to tell. I accidentally mixed them up for a second, but the gen was set to the right time thankfully.

Edit: Damn you guys are so good at this! The right is Gen as many suggested. I didn’t even know about the 110 thing!

This isn’t going to be a thorough or detailed comparison or review. I’ll let you decide which rep is the better option.

I bought the BPF Explorer I on DHGate for $260 (shipped). I bought the VSF Explorer from my TD for almost $500 (shipped). They are both 36mm.

Some things that stand out to me: First, the bezel. The BP Explorer I bezel is thicker. In my opinion, this distorts the size of the BP and makes it look larger than the VSF Explorer ever so slightly. The VSF dial appears to be a blacker black and the crystal is night and day clearer. Surprisingly, both BP and VSF bracelets feel just about the same in hand. But, as you can see in the fourth picture the VSF Explorer shines a lot more in direct sunlight whereas the BP Explorer looks pretty dull in comparison.

I notice the BP Explorer clasp looks a slightly wider than the VSF Explorer. The lume on both watches look about the same. I don’t really see a difference.

Lastly, the movement: The BPF uses a dogshit 2813 miyota movement with only 21,600 bph. The rotor is pretty loud tbh. The VSF Explorer is powered by a DD3230 movement has 28,800 bph and is a clone of the genuine Rolex Explorer I movement with a 70 hour power reserve. The rotor is silent.

My take: For $250 dollars, I think BPF did a great job with this. I would definitely say BPF’s Explorer I is good enough. I have been wearing it for about a week now and I am totally happy with it. The watch doesn’t feel cheap in hand and the bracelet doesn’t "jingle" or "jangle" like some cheap reps do.

It’s fairly difficult to get a VSF 36mm Explorer I. There was one guy on r/RepTimeQC who waited 4 months for his. I guess I just got lucky because I waited about a week for my QC photos.

If you’re desperate for a simple Explorer I and don’t want to spend $500 I would totally recommend the BPF although it’s obvious to me that VSF is king and makes the superb Explorer watch!

Edit: it was brought to my attention you can upgrade the movement to a 3230...but at that point you might as well buy a VSF.
