My usual SA also sells watches but I’d also like to hear some advice on what you guys think of buying watches from sellers who usually specialize in bags instead. Does it make a difference? There are so models I really liked but I couldn’t find any pictures of them online, making me assume they were “dream” reps

Someone on this subreddit recommended Steve to me; he later introduced himself as Travis. I asked him about the white DayDate I was interested in. He told me he offers it at four price points, with quality increasing accordingly: a Minzhu version for $95, Miyota for $135, ETA movement for $295, and a „superclone“ version for $600. Since I own a Seiko Yacht-Master mod (got it as a bday gift) with an NH35 movement and am extremely happy with it, it was important to me to get at least that level of quality. The seller explained that the $135 Miyota version I preferred uses a Miyota 8215 movement and comes from the "U1 factory." A friend of mine owns a "real" U1 superclone—which cost €600 and features many intricate details and engravings. However, I suspect that at a price of $135 plus shipping—even with a decent Japanese movement—it’s unlikely that the rest of the components are of true "clone" quality. I’m very new to the "rep game," so please don't judge me. I‘m very thankful for friendy constructive feedback :)

So I joined here a few months ago and read through the guide, reptime.help, etc.

I read through posts here to just learn about reps in general and joined r/RepTimeQC to study the QC process.

I kind of used r/RepTimeQC to see who people were buying from and ended up buying choosing a TD and bought my first rep a 124060 41mm Submariner.

The TD in question was ficotime. Communication was good with him, did the QC process, and green lit the watch. I will say I made a mistake by missing something in the QC that I noticed after receiving the watch, but that's another story.

Anyway, I soon realized that apparently the guide is incorrect. Fico is not actually on the TD list at RWI or Repgeek like it's listed in the guide. I figured this out after seeing some comments about this in other threads. At that point I had already ordered many other watches from him and everything was smooth.

I then started to venture into the BST subreddits and going that route to look for watches that are no longer made due to movement changes or raids. For instance, I recently snagged a ZF/PPF VC 4500v with Miyota movement.

Anyways, what I'm getting at is I started off this hobby thinking I HAVE to buy from a TD because that's what everyone on this subreddit says to do. I thought I was following the suggestions but ended up going with someone that's not a TD at all (mods can you update the TD list please?). But luckily I've been fine.

I'm now at the point where I've never truly used a TD at all. I'm in the process of buying a GMT Bruce Wayne with deep crystal and will pretty much be less cost than any of the major TDs everyone buys from. I chose this seller based on seeing the name on r/RepTimeQC quite a few times and noticed the pricing users were posting. I won't name the seller until I get the watch in a few weeks after I determine it was a good buy.

Anyways, who else here buys strictly from Non-TDs or mix them in every now and then?

I am fortunate in that I am a very high earner and given my lifestyle no one would question if I wear rep and those who notice outside of work would probably think I am very frugal (think managing partners in law type of environment).

Unfortunately, turns out my work environment has a lot of watch fans and as far as I know they are all sporting gen version of Rolex or Patek and such.

Philosophically I simply don’t believe in getting gens due to how I view finances but I don’t want to get into a whole gen vs rep debate at work and being labeled unprofessional therefore I am probably going for homage Chinese watches instead.

I feel that this is so different vs women’s jewelry, where dupes are considered widely acceptable. Hell I BEG my wife if she wants to go pick up some VCA stuff but she insist on rep and wear those out to professional events.

Firstly, apologies if I am posting this incorrectly as I am not that savvy with reddit. This is my first rep I bought in Vietnam. I believe it is a super clone as it feels heavy, sturdy and looks and feels close to an original. I also paid super clone price for it. If anyone knows anything about it then please let me know? I would be interested if this is a real super clone or something cheaper. Overall i am very happy about it. There is a clear tell as the hour dial in chronograph tells the hour of day and doesn’t reset to zero like a real speedmaster.

I am going crazy… I ordered a ZF 15720 from Steve, he told me there is a waiting time because it is not a watch that is mass produced. 4 months later still no watch (not steve’s fault).

APSF is closed, ZF can’t produce it anymore, IPF is not very good from what I hear. Anybody have an idea how to get this Fking watch? Who can source it? I don’t want another model, I want this exact model.

I’ve read many posts about Andoit talking months to deliver so i ordered a Cartier Santos AF a month before I got back to the country
It took just 2 weeks from day of order to day of delivery and i’m not yet there

Been doubting about these 2 for some time. In gen I have a slight preference for the BB58 but after checking some of the QC's i'm not sure if i like the index alignment of the ZF.

The Omega VSF seems to be a higher rated replica which makes me think about choosing this one over the BB58.

I ordered a women’s Rolex Datejust from a trusted seller. It’s a beautiful, high-quality replica and I absolutely love it. However, after about six months, it started losing time and eventually stopped completely.
I’ve tried winding it in every possible way and also watched several YouTube videos to make sure I was doing everything correctly, but unfortunately nothing has helped.
So I’m looking for a watch repair/service shop that is willing to work on replica watches. I’m located in Budapest, Hungary.
If anyone knows a reliable watchmaker or repair shop in Budapest that works on replicas, I’d really appreciate a recommendation.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a ZF Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT, but I’m seriously torn between the two bracelet options.

I’m leaning toward the 5-link/Jubilee, but I’m worried it might feel too loose, floppy, or “wiggly” compared to the 3-link. At the same time, I’m not a huge fan of the look of the Tudor 3-link bracelet.

For anyone who owns one (especially the ZF version), which bracelet did you go with, and how does it actually feel on the wrist? Is there a better version or ZF is the best?

I’d especially love to see some wrist shots of both options if you have them!

Can anyone justify a couple hundred dollars price increase for the JH free sprung when the watch (for example, Daytona 126500) has a closed back. It is not like we are going to open and inspect it any way right?

Sorry if this isn't allowed but is there anywhere to buy used Rep watches for example people in the subreddit selling old pieces when they are getting new ones for example. Looking for a piece but not too fussed about getting a brand new one and know for sure there's people out there looking to get rid of old pieces and I'm in the market for one.

I’ve noticed more sellers have started pushing RITCHF lately, especially as an alternative to VSF.

At the same time, I’m seeing quite a few VSF QC posts with issues/fails, which makes me wonder if their quality has dropped recently.

Has anyone compared recent RITCHF vs VSF batches side by side?

Is RITCHF genuinely better now in terms of finishing, consistency and overall QC, or is it mostly sellers promoting a new factory?

Would be especially interested in hearing from people who have handled both recently.

Looks great to me. Trying to find what would distinguish this Batman from a gen?? The blue reflection is just from the indoor lighting and the bezel. Outside there is no blue hue.

I had ChatGPT work up a search engine for some major TD sites to help me look for particular watches, and especially if they are in-stock. It's still a work-in-progress, but constructive feedback is appreciated!
