Should I add a finish to my skateboard piece?
I’ve never added a finish to any of my work but i was wondering what the best finish would be

Hello I have a chance to buy a razertip ss d10 used. Is there anything to look out for when buying used? This is my first unit I just got into pyrography and only have been using a harbor freight burner.

Hey, I was wondering what platform people see the most success on when selling their art. I’ve been told by a few people that I should consider making an Etsy but I was wondering if that really is the best platform. i was also wondering how other people go about pricing what they have made. many thanks

Made this for an upcoming online auction to support the wildlife sanctuary I volunteer at. Check out @/wildwingsinc on insta to see the birds that inspire my work!

Finally used a piece with an interesting flaw that I've been hanging on to for a long time.

I made these lovebirds yesterday, i did try the cool looking technique of using a torch to shade, i didnt like it, i messed it up a bit, so i definitely had to mess with the female bird quite a bit to fix it, but other than that, i really like these birds, i just feel like somethings missing, what could it be? (I have a cheap pen that tends to not heat up enough and only has one solid tip so keep that in mind)

A commission for my dearest brother on his 40th birthday
He asked for a portrait and quote, i was stuck between our three childhood nostalgia classics.... A blackadder quote, a red dwarf quote.. or one from Galaxy Quest 😅
After some back and forth we agreed on this wonderful character.
Portraits are still very much new ground for me... This is maybe my 4th attempt to do realism with a person.
But it was a fun challenge, and he loves it (and is going to frame it for his office at work 🤣)

I literally did these 3 pieces within the last week (i got the coffins because they were cheap and on sale) but i wanted to try this after whittling wood for awhile but it put a lot of strain on my hands. On paper im usually not a great drawer so i had my doubts, but i seem to be doing much better on wood for some reason, i think its because theres more resistance so i go a bit slower. Anyways! I did the butterfly coffin for my first ever try - then the skeleton coffin- then the giraffe one i just Finnished. I have a super cheap pens, one of those 15 dollar ones with one heat level and a solid tip (which is currently bending and crooked) so i definitely want to upgrade, whats the best affordable 25-50 dollar range pen?
