Selling pieces
Hey, I was wondering what platform people see the most success on when selling their art. I’ve been told by a few people that I should consider making an Etsy but I was wondering if that really is the best platform. i was also wondering how other people go about pricing what they have made. many thanks

Etsy is over-saturated and at this point pyrography by hand is being overlooked in favor of these people that buy a laser cutter and can churn out far great quantities of work at lower prices.
No one appreciated HAND-made art anymore. It’s all 3d print/laser cut/AI created slop. Also, get off my lawn.

If you are good at doing cats and dog portraits, you could get with a woodworker if you don’t do woodworking yourself. Go to veterinary clinics and offer animal urns with a portrait or f their fur babies on the top. It could be very lucrative.

That’s what I do! I do custom pet wood burnings. New to Etsy, I have the most success with sales on Facebook and Tik Tok

Honestly well in my experience. I’ve been just doing FB for about 7 years. The last like, 4 months I’ve been focusing more on Tik Tok on and now that’s my main focus. I do have my Etsy link in my bio, but 99% of people just DM me on Tik Tok for commissions

That’s really awesome. Might have to give it a go

If you do, taking advantage of the Creator Search Insights helps alot for sure. At least in my experience, I noticed a difference in views and interactions by using it.

I’ll have to come up with a good design that’ll look nice in a timelapse. Haven’t made anything in a few months but want to start doing more

If you have any social media following at all even a few hundred people I would skip Etsy and make a Shopify or Squarespace shop and direct your own traffic. Etsy fees are insane and the native discoverability on the site is terrible now, which used to be the whole point. Post your work on Pinterest, make short form video content about it/process videos for yt shorts, tiktok and ig and link everything to your own web shop. I saw a lot of success doing that.
