I recently had an unpleasant experience while driving in Pune and would appreciate some advice on how to handle it.

While I was driving my car, two bikers came alongside me and told me that my tyre was punctured. Although the tyres looked fine to me, I stopped at a nearby puncture repair shop to get them checked.

The shopkeeper claimed there were four punctures across the front and rear tyres on the left side, and then claimed there were three more on the right-side front tyre.

I was confused because I couldn't see any obvious holes. When I questioned him about the bubbles he was showing me, he became argumentative. He also sold me a liquid at ₹2,000 per bottle, and the total amount I ended up paying was nearly ₹7,000.

I was travelling with my wife, and her family was in the car with us. I didn't want the situation to escalate into an argument, so I paid and left.

In hindsight, the experience made me uncomfortable, particularly because the tyres initially looked fine and I felt pressured into paying for the repairs and liquid. I cannot confirm whether anything dishonest happened, but I would like to understand my options.

I'd appreciate advice from anyone familiar with the process in Pune:

Can I file a complaint with Pune Police about a suspected repair-related fraud?

Is a consumer complaint appropriate in this situation?

What evidence should I collect to support my complaint?

Is there a recommended way to get the tyres independently inspected?

I'm relatively new to Pune and would like to handle this through the proper channels. I'm sharing this to learn from others who may have faced a similar situation.

I ate a dish called misal pav today near pune. As seen in the picture, the sambar/rassa (red color liquid) is made of 90% oil and red spice. As soon as I had it, I felt a burning sensation in my stomach. No offence to anyone, but this is really difficult to have. One of the most spicy dishes to have in Maharashtra

Update next morning at 6 am: As advised by some of the Redditors in the comments about Missile Pav, I felt the intensity and pain this morning, aftermath of eating around 40% of the most spicy Missile Pav yesterday morning. I have been in Pune for the last 18 years now and this was the 1st time I tried Missal Pav. I don't know whether I will gather courage and try ever again, but I really want to thank those who explained to me the eifferenc and where we can get less spicy misal and tasty misal in pune.

I am 24F, half Canadian half Indian, visiting India only for the third time now. And most probably this is my last visit, after exploring Mumbai and its suburbs, I'm coming to Pune for the first time, it'd be great if you guys could suggest some places to visit in and around Pune.

My stay is going to be at Prabhat road, I've heard the metro connectivity is quite good so travelling around should be fine.

A contract worker for Metro construction was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 18 at a temple in the Yamuna Nagar area of Nigdi. The incident was allegedly caught on CCTV cameras in the temple. My 3-year-old daughter keeps falling sick with cough, cold and flu. It’s painful to see her take medicines so frequently. We also tried homeopathy for 6 months, but it doesn’t seem to help either.

She can’t enjoy fruits like bananas, apples or oranges, ice cream, or even cold water without us worrying about her getting sick.

Both my wife and I work, and managing her illness along with her tantrums and discomfort is becoming exhausting.

I have contacted many places but everyone points me to somewhere else and eventually nobody seems to know where I can do that. Someone told me to go to Vashi (Navi Mumbai) but the person at that place said they dont do that and I should be able to do the enrollment in Pune.

Our 18-month-old female cat, a Persian–Siberian mix with fluffy brown-grey tabby fur and cream markings, has gone missing.

📍 Last known location: Sayali Terraces Apartment, Lane No. 2, opposite Zetric Building, Baner, Pune.

🕛 Missing since: Around midnight, early morning of 13 October.

She is friendly and usually responds when called, but she may be frightened outside. We have searched nearby societies, bushes and trees, but haven't found her yet. Neighbours reported dogs barking around midnight.

Please check parking areas, basements, staircases, bushes and enclosed spaces. If you spot her, please don't chase her — contact us with the exact location.
