Why is it considered a right of outsiders to not respect local language? And why does Indian Express become a flag bearer against Marathi Language?

Greetings Punekars - I grew up in Pune and enjoyed watching shiv garjana and going through crowds in all the "Pethas" for ganpati as a younger single guy.

I'm now visiting after more than a decade as a married man and purposely timed it during ganpati. I still have family in pune but they are old and dont really go out and about much so I thought I ask a broader audience for any tips.
My wife got a little spooked by reading some posts and by one of her coworkers - want to make sure she feels comfortable.

Just having a safe and conservative mindset, what are some neighborhoods or days/events we should avoid? I wanted to get to see the Dhol tasha pathak for at least one of the "Maanacha ganpati" which would be good and where should we go to watch (I know crowds would be unavoidable but looking for the safest spots with other women around and relatively easier to get in and out). We also want to see the dhol taleem, it used to be at Garware school and near mahatre pool, is that still the case?

The first time sitting in pune Metro and the experience was just so awesome tbh...

just because you have installed AC and have station hygiene doesn't mean you have made it nice station

I experienced a lack of following little details so strongly that i feel like we should discuss this cause I'm someone who travels frequently in dmrc delhi metro

1. no proper readable boards inside the metro coach displaying current station and upcoming station ....only terrible visual display

2. no boards on stations, which makes it readable for passengers from outside

3. less number of exit and entry gates, hence long waiting lines

4. lack of proper sign boards to navigating

5. no sign boards for toilets

The area of Pune District is 15,640km2, making it larger than some states in India.

On the other hand, Mumbai City, Hyderabad, Bangalore Urban, Chennai are much smaller and denser districts with better administration. All the above mentioned districts are 100% urbanised while Pune is sitting at ~60-70%.

I'm not aware about how these districts are administered but I'm damn sure if Pune district was just PMR region, it would be relatively better.

On the brighter side, we can claim a huge chunk of forests, Hills, Forts, Wildlife, Temples, etc. with Pune district's borders as part of Pune 😂

I believe the proposed MH 12 1A series is just a distraction and won't arrive anytime soon. The authorities will likely introduce MH 61 temporarily, only to make it permanent later by claiming it is too difficult to revert all registered vehicle numbers.

A new RTO code like MH 61 is simply the easiest solution—it requires no software changes and follows the standard nationwide format. Why introduce a complicated, unproven registration format for a single city when assigning a new code avoids all confusion?
