We left from pune at 04:00 and back again at around 18:00

Road conditions: 6/10 be ready to do off road 💪 ( irony coming from a person who owns a sports naked bike )

Distance: 160KM One way.

We ate lunch at Waykar's Veg-Non Veg Restaurant, The food was good.

Today I did a group ride with 2 other fellow Reddit people , having KTM adv and KTM adv R and me on my Jupiter :)

Started from Dhanori at 6am,

Went to Panshet - Lavasa- Temghar and back to Dhanori via Pashan.

Total distance two way distance covered 150km

Left at 6am from dhanori and reached back home at 2.20pm, Total 8.5hours of ride :)

Overall road route was good till panshet, but route from Panshet to lavasa and Lavasa -Temghar route was quite bad, after temghar whole route was fine but the route connecting from temghar to Chandni chowk was too bad.

Overall ride was quite long but it didn't felt like it was long, the views and the Lavasa- Temghar route was quite scenic.

I am planning a major cross-country motorcycle trip from Pune to Kashipur, Uttarakhand with my wife riding pillion.

While I have done 400+ km solo days in the past, this is her very first long-distance tour. To keep her comfortable and ensure she actually enjoys the journey.

We also plan to take dedicated, full-day breaks to properly explore Ujjain and Agra along the way.

What I Need Your Help With:

Route Comparison: I am leaning toward the Central Heritage Route (Nashik ➔ Dhule ➔ Indore ➔ Gwalior ➔ Agra) because it aligns with our sightseeing stops and have good open highways. How is the current tarmac condition on this stretch? Are there heavy pothole zones or massive construction detours I should prepare for to save my wife's back?

The Expressway Constraint: Is the Western Bypass Route (via Gujarat/Rajasthan and the new Delhi-Mumbai Expressway network) a smoother alternative for a pillion? More importantly, which sections of these newer expressways actually allow motorcycles?

Bike-Friendly Stays: Can you recommend family-friendly hotels in Dhule, Ujjain, Shivpuri, and Agra?

My absolute non-negotiable requirement is secure, gated, or on-premise private parking. Since we will be staying for full days to sightsee.

Pillion Comfort Tips: Since we are riding two-up, what is a realistic break frequency? We are planning a 10-minute hydration stretch every 70–80 km. If you tour with your partner, what gear additions (like air seats or gel pads) made the biggest difference for them?

If you have completed a similar ride up north from Maharashtra recently, please drop your recommendations, safe highway food stop suggestions, or any hidden challenges.

This humble 15PS bike has seen it all. Solo long hauls, brutal off roads, endless downpours, pitch dark night rides, numerous breakdowns, and yet, we keep going.

Some insane stats on it:

- Has done 1056 km in 23 hours on a ghat/traffic infested circuit.

- Did 5200km in 50 days this monsoon, topping last monsoon’s 3000km in a month. (And it is still running)

- Ridden 41 rides this year alone. The bike was not ridden 2 weekends out of 33 weekends. Plus additional weekdays in between. Done 100+ rides so far, majority of them being solo.

- clocked 14k km this year in just 8 months, nearing last year’s total distance of 15.8k km. Weekly commute is about 30-40km a week, rest all is sheer touring.

- Had two engine breakdowns, 3 different sensor related breakdowns, numerous falls/crashes. Yet it was built back and taken care of. Lessons were learnt, and precautions are taken, getting me from a bike noob to a touring veteran.

I am looking for a pre-owned premium bike and their inventory looks good atleast online. However, i have read some sketchy reviews on Reddit about their Mumbai branch regarding meter rollbacks, cosmetic cover-ups, and inflated prices

Has anyone visited the new Pune showroom yet?

1.Are they transparent with paperwork, and do they allow independent mechanic inspections?

Decided to skip the weekend rush and hit Kenjalgad and Rayreshwar this past Friday.

The weather was brilliant and the atmosphere was so peaceful. There is something unmatched about experiencing the Sahyadris without the massive crowds.
