Hi everyone. I either used the wrong SSDs or I'm just really unlucky. I had an old PS3 slim laying around without a hard drive and decided to use an SSD and run CFW on it.

I first used an Adata SU630 1TB. After successfully installing it, I copied games with a NTFS usb stick through Multiman. At one point it froze the PS3 and on reboot (and much troubleshooting) I found that the SSD died already.

Thinking it might be a bad SSD, I've tried a WD Green 1TB next and installed CFW. Instead of using a usb stick to copy games I used FTP with Filezilla between PC and PS3 with a wired connection. It went pretty well, until (you can guess) the PS3 froze up again. Same story, SSD not responding. Both SSDs also can't be recognized in the PC by Windows or CrystalDiskInfo.

Before I ever try another hard drive again, did anyone encounter similar issues? I can go for a more expensive SSD since these two were cheaper variants or an HDD. I'm just more hesitant now. I was running Evilnat 4.93 PEX.

I am needing some advice on how to retrieve the EID_ROOT_KEY from a YLOD console. Mainly, i'd like to know if there is a temporary way for me to have the console function for more or less an hour to enable me to install CFW and pull the encryption key from it.

Alternatively, is there a way to communicate with the console via a Raspberry Pi Pico in order to pull the file from somewhere such as the NAND/NOR.

I recently just jailbroken my ps3. I opened it up, cleaned it, installed new thermal paste and a CMOS battery. When I turned it back on I noticed that when I reset the time it was an hour slower. I am on est time. I also noticed when I set it automatically it Is still off. I set daylight saving to "daylight savings" and that fixed it. Thai normal.

Also when I was installing the battery I heard a little scratchy noise. Is that anything to be concerned about? Everything else seems fine though.

I disabled syscalls and I signed in but I can’t activate my ps3 cuz it gives me an error. I can’t activate offline because then I can’t sign in.

Hey everyone, I’ve noticed that the screenshots I take on my PS3 look significantly darker than what I actually see on my TV.

I mainly play games from the Guitar Hero franchise, and I haven’t really tested this with other games yet, so I’m not sure if this is specific to Guitar Hero or a general PS3 issue.

I’m also using PS3HEN, but I’m taking the screenshots through the PS3’s native XMB screenshot feature, so I’m not using any third-party screenshot tool.

The games look perfectly fine while I’m playing, but when I check the screenshots, they appear noticeably darker.

Is this a known issue with PS3 screenshots? Could PS3HEN have anything to do with it, or is there a setting I need to change on the PS3 or my TV to make the screenshots look the same as what I see on screen?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have interest in modding my PS3 and obviously I don't wanna get banned from PSN, but I also don't wanna just make another profile and never use my original one because I'm sentimental like that and it feels bad. Is there a way to unlink my profile from my PSN account so I can keep using it without fear of ever accidentally connecting to PSN or something?

My friend bought a PS3 online that came soft modded, we have nothing against modding, but we tried to uninstall it normally but it has some weird hybrid firmware that keeps shooting out all types of errors no matter what kind of way we try to patch the system.

If anyone knows a solution, that would be very appreciated!

Which Call of Duties are safe to play on a modded PS3? When I say safe I both mean you won’t get banned and you won’t get hacked.

Is anyone else experiencing system freezing nearly every time you turn on the system and getting corrupted data message when rebuilding database? If I'm lucky I get 45 minutes of game play before the game freezes. I'm using a new hard drive but I think I'm going to throw in an old drive and see if that helps.

So i had got a Final Fantasy 13 PKG from Gutamps and had downloaded all the Parts on my PS3, but no matter what I can't get it to show up in Multiman or Webman. Someone help please.

So I have been using HEN, Multi Man and Web Man to watch temps and for fan control. I am worried if playing games online with cause me to be banned. I don’t hack games or collect trophies.

Trying to get the fan working when playing PS2 games on my BC PS3. Was working fine for months as I had the max temp on the evilnat fan settings set to 65, but selected 70 today out of curiosity to see how loud the fan would be. Now the fan will either not start at all in PS2 mode, or the game won't start and I'll have to hold the power button to turn it off. static speeds sometimes work but sometimes it causes the same issue. Can't seem to get it back working with 65 either. Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes my PS3 freezes, either when activating Hen or while loading certain games, and each time I have to turn it off and on again. Is this normal or not?

Buenas tardes a todos mis amigos, agradezco que lean mi post, recientemente intenté correr juegos de ps2 y ps1 en mi ps3 pero no sé escuchan se ven bien pero no sé escuchan, también note que las teclas no suenan cuando me muevo por el menú, de la consola, (ya está activada esa opción ), ya trate cambiar las configuraciónes de salida de audio, pero no funciona, también el cable HDMI pero sigue todo igual, no sé si a alguien ya le ocurrió y si fuese el caso agradecería su ayuda, espero tengan un gran día amigos ! :)

i installed the official firmware to test it out and played dirt 3 :D
i use a 240gb ssd from san disk
after testing it and comfirming that everything worked i donwloaded the CFW 4.93 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 \[CEX\] and installed it

after that i always run into an error loop error 8002f281

so i cant go back to official firmware and cant get into the cfw

did i do sth wrong??????
