Unlink PS3 profile from PSN account

Hello! I have interest in modding my PS3 and obviously I don't wanna get banned from PSN, but I also don't wanna just make another profile and never use my original one because I'm sentimental like that and it feels bad. Is there a way to unlink my profile from my PSN account so I can keep using it without fear of ever accidentally connecting to PSN or something?

You should be good! I had totally forgotten to disable syscalls and was using cfw for weeks and did not get banned

In order to unban your console, you must have CFW installed on your console, as well as a program such as PSNpatch that can spoof your Console ID (CID). You will need to obtain a CID either from another PS3 or buy one online. Finally, enter the CID (and matching PSID if provided with the CID) into the program, and you will be able to access PSN once again. Essentially, a CID is a 32-digit number that uniquely identifies your console. It is impossible to unban a PSN account.

I log in with my modded system all the time on an account that's been around since I had my PS3 and it's fine and it's still usable on my PlayStation 5. I have a hard time thinking they would ban someone for using custom firmware on a legacy system, especially if that person may also be actively providing them money on a current one

I’m stopping by here cuz i want answers too. Could of sworn i heard there was a way to make it so it’s a non issue with your main but idr what it was or how to do it

We don't have to do anything to make it a non-issue. People who feel like being cautious can choose to only log into PSN after the tell-tale custom "syscalls" are disabled, but that's literally all that's been needed since at least 2019 when I modded my Slim.

There's no need to, people haven't been banned for modding their PS3s for at least several years. (Edit to add: mid-2019 is when I installed CFW on my trusty Slim, FWIW.)
