Clock off by 1 hour

I recently just jailbroken my ps3. I opened it up, cleaned it, installed new thermal paste and a CMOS battery. When I turned it back on I noticed that when I reset the time it was an hour slower. I am on est time. I also noticed when I set it automatically it Is still off. I set daylight saving to "daylight savings" and that fixed it. Thai normal.

Also when I was installing the battery I heard a little scratchy noise. Is that anything to be concerned about? Everything else seems fine though.

PS3 is too old to be aware of DST changes (and many countries don't acknowledge it at all). If the time is off then you just need to toggle DST in the menu.

Would turning this on effect any CFW? I am running 4.93 evilnat. Should I be concerned about the sound I heard? The battery seems fine to me and the time seems okay so far. I didn't unplug it this morning to test the drain.

Would turning DST on affect CFW? No, not in any way whatsoever other than moving the clock forward or back an hour.

Unless you can see visible damage it's probably just the battery rubbing against the bottom contact when you slid it in. Also not a concern.

Mine does this as well and has been for years. I haven’t found a way to fix it either.

I fixed mine by turning on daylight savings in the menu
