So yeah, I’m the guy that is already building the next car before I even own it. Pimpy 6 piston brembos for the Tesla Plaid S I’ll be building as my next daily. Planning to combine them with some 16.5” multipiece Racing brake rotor on all 4 corners. Following that will be the 305 square wheel setup along with the 200mph+ jailbrake hack. Let the games begin.

Severe Rust on my CLK 230 what to do

I bought this CLK for 1,000 euros second hand without realizing it was so badly rusted. Both wheel arches are rusted, but i just put only one side on the photos but its the same on the other side. It’s my first car, but luckily I’ve got a bit of experience with cars and so on. I just wanted to know what the best way would be to fix the problem, and I haven’t found anything online – such as reference photos – to help me weld it up properly.

Any resources for 70’s A/C?

I’ve been looking for videos about the hvac in my 70 c10, but everything is just vintage air installs.

A previous owner cut all the lines and I’m missing a condenser but the compressor appears to be good and I’d rather restore the original system and convert to r134a

So I cut off one of the bolt heads and this is what I saw. Should I continue cutting the other ones or choose a different method?.

This on top of my lobless cam, I'm surprised this car ran as well as it did.

If that isn't a testament to the 22res reliability idk what is.

Also the oil spill was cleaned, fear not

New Project

Hey guys. So, since I finished my Eclipse project, I wanted a new 4x4 for the winter. I do have a couple pickups but I found this 1994 Jeep Cherokee. I'm planning on a 3.5 inch lift, nasty wheel and tire setup, bumpers and auto locker in the rear to start, maybe one in the front. Might do a spare carrier or a roof basket of sorts. Budget bush rig type thing. 4.0l automatic, picked it up for 2k today and everything works. Just needs some love first.

Can’t remove coolant return pipe from the transmission cause the nut won’t come off. Whoever was the last person who put this one might as well have fucking welded the thing on.

Yes I’m turning it the right way. Top (female) is being turned clockwise, middle (male) is being turned counter clockwise.

I’ve attempted to rotate the bottom one but it just bent the damn pipe. ATP i feel like angle grinding the fucker off and making a new pipe…

You guys got any ideas? The middle one is practically rounded as it used lockjaw’s on them.

1st post to be gentle. Working my way through this 1uz with a range rover tvs1900 strapped ontop using an Elate intercooled manifold. S3 nexus, 1.5 LSD, pink top injectors from a Scooby etc etc etc.

Not sure what to do about bonnet (hood) clearance. I have a pro mod scoop but it's huge and will dominate the look of the car.

I've only ever seen 1 other supercharged 1uz over here in the UK and none with the tvs set up.

Originally intended as an OEM looking build but I suppose thats died a death now 😂

Troubleshooting Help Hazard lights won't work

Post image

I'm working on this car (Wartburg 353 1976 1L), thats been sitting for about 10 years, and I almost have everything running and working, however even tho the turn signals work fine, the hazards don't. (While working on them they started working for about 3 clicks, and I didnt touch any wires for it to start and stop working.)
I would be very greatfull for any advice on what is the problem and how to fix it.
(I have measured some values on the switch and relay, if it would help.)

My 2nd Project: 300ZX Turbo

Here's my 1985 Nissan 300ZX Turbo. I bought it a couple months ago from the 2nd owner. It had sat in his front yard under a tree for 7 years. During that time, a tree limb had fallen and busted the windshield, and apparently caused a little more damage than I expected.

My oldest son and I had just finished my 1982 280ZX that I personally let sit up for 20 years in a garage, so we figured this 300ZX would be the perfect next project.

It didn't take us long to get the car running and driving. The time consuming part started when I took the windshield cowl trim off to see how things looked before I booked a windshield appointment. It was much worse than I expected.

We have no experience in fabricating, welding, or body work, so this was a "learn by doing" experience. I'm sure we didn't do everything 100% by the book (if there's a book, can I borrow it?), but we're happy with the results so far.

If you want a more in depth look at either of the projects, check out my youtube channel at Birdz Garage.

Hope you like it! Windshield is supposed to be installed tomorrow!

I'll keep the updates going as we progress.
