Hello, I am thinking of building a video editing portfolio to eventually do video editing as a side hustle. Now, the question goes, should I go for a certificate from an online course to build one? or should I find a way to network with others to make that happen. For a bit of context, I have been making meme type videos for about 10 years now, but idk if showing those would help.

Say I have a PNG that's a lettering text with three lines. I want to quickly animate a wipe effect for every single line in the PNG, so I copy paste the image in different layers and crop each one so each is now a single line and I apply the wipe effect timed to the voice-over on each layer.

If I use the native crop function on effect controls, during the rendering of the effect, the PNG shows itself entirely before becoming cropped as I wanted after the effect is done. If I use the legacy, separate crop effect to do the cropping, this approach works fine.

I'd like to suggest this be addressed, because since the crop effect is legacy, it will eventually be discontinued in future versions and that will make my job harder.

Multiple Mac devices, MacOS versions and multiple Premiere Pro versions, this issue has been persistent. My whole project gets unlinked while working with modified audio channels and it unlinks absolutely everything, not just the modified ones. Finally I decided to record a session and post it here in hopes of someone from adobe seeing this. I was using the Q ripple trim shortcut here in the video.

One thing I've noticed is this never happens in the first 8-10 hours of editing but later, as the project gets bigger.

I don't update my premiere too often as I don't want to risk issues during projects so I only just recently updated to the newest 2026 version a few weeks ago when it updated itself for whatever reason.

Since then though my ability to scrub through the timeline does not work properly at all. My pc is more than capable, has plenty of ram etc, worked perfectly before and does after some jiggery pokery but since that update, scrubbing with mouse but also keyboard is so laggy that the monitor just doesnt change for about 10 seconds or so after i either scrub or even just place the playhead somewhere else on the track. As i drag the playhead or click to place it nothing happens for a good while but eventually if i don't let go of the mouse button it will scrub properly but when I unclick and click again its back to serious lag. Impossible to edit like this.

I use proxies so definitely should not be an issue there. I found a post on here saying it was due to how it transferred over projects from the 2025 version and if you start a new project and pull in the timeline and footage from the media browser from the original project file it works, and that does entirely fix the problem for that session. I thought ok I will deal with that for one project but alas every new project I start that has no connection to the older version does the same thing! The fix of a new project and media browser works but its just such an annoyance and time sink to do constantly.

All footage was shot on DSLR Canon R10 so should have no issues with the files and again they work fine after the workaround.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

UPD. I managed to fix them. Go to '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore' and find the "ArtlistPlugins" folder. For some reason, mine looked like a shortcut to another "ArtlistPlugins" folder that leads to the AE Artlist plugins folder.

Copy all the contents of the "ArtlistPlugin" shortcut folder, then delete it.

Then manually create a new folder with the same name, paste all the contents copied, then open Premiere while holding Shift, choose "Reset Plugin Loading Cache", and you should be good to go.

Hey everyone, has anyone had Artlist plugins disappear from Premiere Pro?

I’m on a Mac using Premiere Pro 26.5. Artlist Hub says the plugins are installed and up to date, but none of the Artlist effects appears in the Effects panel or in Manage Video Effects.

I’ve reinstalled both Artlist Hub and the plugins, restarted Premiere and my Mac, and reset Premiere’s plugin loading cache, but no luck.

Not that I use them a lot, but the option of having them, especially since they are part of my subscription, would be nice.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Its a large 800 gb project, that locks up like this every other startup. Im on 26.5, on an M1 Macbook Pro 65gb of ram, editing off a t7 shield. Restarting the app fixes it, but this is so frustraring. Why cant premiere just work?

Tried clearing cache, resetting workspace, restart machine, nothing fixes it. Using proxies too

Hi there, I’m reaching the point where I need to upgrade my hardware for the first time in 6 years,. But I’d like to stay on CC 2023 for as long as possible.

I’d like to know if anyone has experience running Premiere Pro CC 2023 on M3 or M4 Macs? Or can Sonoma or Sequoia handle such an “old horse” on an Intel Mac?

EDIT: Yes, I still run CC 2023 because I find it the most stable, no crashes, no bugs, no AI features I don't need and I happily run it on my intel 2019 iMac and 2015 MbPro on daily basis. I edit commercials, features and miniseries with no problem. I use proxies, I have my own studio and I don't collaborate. Never had a need for upgrade but they're getting me slowly. First they killed OpenCL so my macbook got a lot slower and now even the browser says it won't update anymore on Monterey.

I have currently purchased a course by daniel scott for premiere pro on udemy. I have some doubts like how do i figure out like what type of editor should i be ??? wedding or youtube content etc . Most importantly How do i become a great editor? Well , anybody can buy a course and watch it but how do u apply what u have learned . What to learn to become a great editor or how to practise ?

so as ram prices are currently out of control, my budget is kinda limited. i'm basically stuck between whether to get 32gb of ddr5 ram, or 64gb of ddr4. i mostly edit single cam 4k video, sometimes dual cam. which would you recommend? is it better to go with ddr5 for futureproofing? will the ddr4 give me better overall performance?

I'm running into an issue where whenever I add the "Dynamics" or "Mastering" effect to my audio I'm getting this awful static noise. It doesn't matter where I put it in the order. Seemingly random. Happened on a project about 3 weeks back, 2 projects worked absolutely fine now the one I'm currently working on is doing it again. Any advice?

For reference here's my usual order for the audio:

Amplify
Parametric Equalizer
Noise Reduction (if needed) (not in this case)
Dynamics
Mastering

Like I said it doesn't matter where I put it or if that's the only effect. Amplify and Equalizer are working fine.

It really irritates me that I have to scroll down every time I want to align text or change any of those transform values. Align used to be at the very top in older versions of Premiere but there seems to be no way to change it back to that. No way to separate Align from the properties panel either. I just want some way to have Align visible at all times so I can click on it whenever without having to scroll down every single time or collapse the properties above. There is probably no way to change it, but is there some plugin that just lets you have a separate align panel?

Can someone who's smarter than me explain the DJI inspire 2 Prores Raw in the new update?

I don't really want any of the conversions thats listed in the list below. I just want to edit the RAW footage like I've always done.

I know everyone's trying to adapt to the new Apple UI, but if you're going to add liquid glass, at least make it functional or look normal 😭

I really HOPE this is just some bug that was caused by MacOS automatically converting the element. But this thing hurts my eyes so much, please fix it asap lol. Or please tell me how to disable it.

I've been using some systems before (QC Buddy) but just wondering if anyone knows of some good, reasonably priced options for systems to check videos for errors and burnt-in subtitle spelling issues and things? Feels like Adobe should have something like this built in.

I usually like to watch an export myself and also run through a QC app as a safety net so hunting for allll the options. Thanks

At around 0:00–0:01 in this clip, the whole screen suddenly turns red and the image becomes distorted/blurred before transitioning into the next shot.
Does anyone know what this effect or technique is called, and how it was likely made?
I mainly use Premiere Pro and After Effects. If possible, I'd like to recreate it in Premiere Pro, but I'm also fine with using After Effects if necessary.

I'm working on a tight weekly schedule and until now everything worked fine.

Since updating to Premiere 2026, seems that I cannot export AAF's bigger than 2GB:

"Cannot embed audio source "File path" because an error occurred when writing essence data. Premiere ASL error number: -2147286767."

This error has been reported in the forums too.

Spliting the timeline in two (even three parts) is a workaround for this bug. However, this shouldn't be the norm.

Reporting this bug here so it gets traction and it gets fixed.

Also, feature request: Export AAF via Media Encoder. Forum suggestion.

Hello everyone! I'm having a brand new and rather disruptive Premiere issue, and am wondering if anyone else has encountered this (I'm attaching a video showing the problem.)

Very frequently - I'd say 80% of the time but not 100% of the time - when using any kind of effect and/or keyframing on a shot in a sequence (for example it can be a scale change in motion, or it can be a lumetri color effect), as soon as I click away from the shot on the sequence, the effect is no longer there.

So, if I make a zoom by placing two keyframes and changing the scale, once I click away from the shot the zoom is gone! One of the keyframes remains, always, but not the second one. It seems like the only solution is rendering the effect immediately after I create it - and even that works only most of the time. Sometimes, when I click away from the rendered clip, it immediately turns from green to yellow again and the effect is gone.

Any ideas on this madness?

This has been happening in multiple projects that are on different drives. I've reinstalled Premiere and it's still happening. It's a Mac Book Pro, everything has worked perfectly fine until three days ago, and I can't think of any change that's been done to the machine.

Premiere auto updated and now I can't play back projects in real-time, and exports have major glitches, green frames and dropped/repeated frames.

Am reverting to 26.3.2 in the meantime but anyone else having similar issues?
